Clean Energy Closes $30.7 Million Tax Credit Sale from its RNG Portfolio

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (Nasdaq: CLNE) announced that it has completed the sale of $30.7 million in federal tax credits generated by seven of its renewable natural gas (RNG) production facilities. The sale marks Clean Energy’s fourth successful transaction monetizing credits from its RNG projects.

The largest credit in the transaction is the $26 million investment tax credit (ITC) tied to South Fork Dairy, Clean Energy’s RNG facility in Dimmit, Texas, which began producing RNG in 2025.

In addition to the ITC from South Fork Dairy, the transaction also included all the 2025 Section 45Z clean fuel production credits from Clean Energy’s portfolio of dairy RNG projects. The credits were generated by seven facilities across Texas, South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota, including projects held through Clean Energy’s joint ventures with bp and TotalEnergies.

In 2025, these projects collectively produced 2.7 million gallons of negative carbon-intensity RNG to fuel transportation fleets.
