Jeep® Brand Dominates the Sixth Rebelle Rally

Jeep® Wrangler sweeps the podium, Wrangler 4xe is the first electrified vehicle to win the Rebelle Rally

PR Newswire

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 19, 2021 /PRNewswire/ —

  • Wrangler 4xe places first and second overall while also taking Bone Stock and Electrified titles
  • Overall, the Jeep Wrangler takes the top three positions and Jeep 4×4 vehicles take five of the top 10 positions
  • Team 4xEventure (team 129) of Nena Barlow and Teralin Petereit and their Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe take overall win along with Bone Stock and Electrified awards
  • The mother and daughter team of Christine and Emily Benzie and their 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Team Jeep Thrills (team 177) brought home a strong second place
  • Jeep proudly teamed up with Team Asdzáá Skoden Rebelles (team 160) of Shandiina Peters and Racquel Black, the first all-Navajo team to compete in the Rally
  • Since the Rebelle Rally started six years ago, Jeep 4×4 vehicles have won five of six overall wins
  • Jeep Wrangler 4xe delivers 49 MPGe and 21 miles of all-electric range with no range anxiety

When the dust settled after the sixth Rebelle Rally, Jeep® SUVs overwhelmingly led the pack. The 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is the first electrified vehicle to win the 1,500-mile trek across the Nevada and California deserts, finishing in both first and second place, taking the overall win and the Bone Stock award. In addition, the Jeep Wrangler swept the podium, securing the top three positions, while also taking five of the top 10 spots.

“The Jeep brand continues to dominate for a reason,” said Emily Miller, founder – Rebelle Rally. “Off the showroom floor, a Jeep 4×4 is an exceptionally capable vehicle to take on the Rebelle Rally. The Wrangler 4xe definitely proved itself in an impressive way, taking the top two positions in the overall competition.”

Team 4xEventure (team 129) of Nena Barlow and Teralin Petereit and their Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe took the overall win and Bone Stock award in this year’s Rebelle Rally. The team’s Wrangler Rubicon 4xe was also the top-scoring electrified vehicle. Barlow and Petereit were consistently dominant, taking the most points in four of the seven stages, never scoring lower than third. This is Petereit’s third overall win while placing on the podium in her two other years of competition, making her the most successful Rebelle Rally competitor.

“The course was more challenging than ever this year, but the Wrangler 4xe made it easy,” said Nena Barlow of Team 4xEventure. “We torqued up dunes and rock-crawled mountains and washes with ease and efficiency. Not to mention, we never lacked for range or power.”

Team Jeep Thrills (team 177) brought home a strong second place. The mother and daughter team of Christine and Emily Benzie and their 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe took one stage win and never finished out of the top 10. This is their third Rebelle podium in the Bone Stock category, with one win, and their first podium in the overall.

“The Rubicon 4xe was pure pleasure to drive during the Rally,” said Emily Benzie of Team Jeep Thrills. “The suspension smoothed the many whoops and washouts we encountered in the Nevada and California deserts. On the third day of competition, we opened the Sky One-Touch Power-Top, without having to stop the Jeep, to admire the steep cliff faces of the scenic Titus Canyon in Death Valley, and then closed it as a dust storm began to form on the valley floor. On the last afternoon, the added torque from the Rubicon 4xe electric mode combined with the eight-speed transmission created the perfect machine to tackle the soft sand in the large dunes of the Glamis sand dune complex.”

Jeep proudly teamed up with Team Asdzáá Skoden Rebelles (team 160) of Shandiina Peters and Racquel Black, the first all-Navajo team to compete in the Rally. As Rebelle Rally rookies, they piloted their Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe to a respectable finish of 29th overall.

“Participating in the Rebelle Rally this year was definitely an unforgettable experience,” said Racquel Black of Team Asdzáá Skoden Rebelles. “Our opportunity and success at the rally came to fruition because of the Jeep brand’s amazing sponsorship of the beautiful and powerful plug-in hybrid Wrangler Rubicon 4xe!”

The Bone Stock designation requires vehicles to be as delivered from the manufacturer, with the only allowances for aftermarket tires and wheels in the factory sizes. New last year, the Electrified Designation applies to EVs, PHEVs and hybrid vehicles.

“The Jeep brand has supported the Rebelle Rally since the beginning six years ago and, this year, we were excited to showcase the new Wrangler 4xe in the most difficult off-road rally conditions,” said Jim Morrison, Vice President, Jeep Brand North America. “It’s a testament to our teams in the race and our engineering teams at home that this year Jeep Wrangler swept the podium, with two Wrangler 4xe SUVs placing first and second overall, as well taking the Bone Stock and electrified awards without a single issue the entire Rally. Congratulations to everyone who rallied this year.”

As the Jeep brand works toward its ultimate goal of zero-emission freedom, events like the Rebelle Rally are key to prove and showcase both its industry-best 4×4 capability, as well as its class-exclusive, off-road 4xe powertrain. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe delivers 49 MPGe and 21 miles of all-electric range with no range anxiety.

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe’s propulsion system combines two electric motors, a 2.0-liter I-4 engine and eight-speed automatic transmission for nearly silent propulsion and enhanced 4×4 off-road capability, without EV range anxiety. This arrangement enables the Trail Rated Jeep Wrangler 4xe to retain running gear that includes solid front and rear axles, full-time two-speed transfer case, a fully articulating suspension and 30 inches of water fording capability.

The E-Selec modes let the driver tailor the Jeep Wrangler 4xe propulsion to the trip: hybrid, electric and eSave, which conserves the battery pack charge for later use. The Wrangler 4xe’s 17-kilowatt-hour battery pack recharges in approximately two hours on Level 2 (220-volt) power and in about 12 hours on Level 1 (110-volt) household power.

The Rebelle Rally is the longest competitive off-road rally in the United States. Traversing over 2,500 kilometers through Nevada and California’s iconic terrain, it is an endurance competition for women consisting of precision driving and navigating – not fastest speed. The competition is innovative and unique, using maps, compass, roadbooks and strategy – known as Rebelle format. GPS and other electronic devices are strictly prohibited. Remote and off-grid for eight competition days, the Rebelle Rally is considered a proving ground for people, products and stock manufacturer vehicles. To learn more, visit

Vocational truck prices up 35% in the U.S. according to Ritchie Bros. October Market Trends Report

PR Newswire

This month’s report includes a special feature on dump trucks, mechanics trucks, flatbeds and more

VANCOUVER, BC, Oct. 19, 2021 /PRNewswire/ – Ritchie Bros.’ October Market Trends Report continues to show positive pricing trends across all its equipment indexes, with vocational truck prices up 35% in the United States, while truck tractors and medium earthmoving are up 46% and 38% respectively (for the three months ending September 30, 2021).

With this month’s report, Ritchie Bros. has included a special focus on vocational trucks sold in the United States and Canada. When looking specifically at mixer trucks, mechanics trucks, and flatbed trucks sold in the U.S. you will notice older units selling for more money as many companies are holding on to equipment & trucks longer today because of the uncertainty in the supply chain for new assets. In Q3 2021 alone, the median price for mechanics trucks in the U.S. is up 54% year over year and up 69% in Canada.

“We continue to drive unprecedented demand across all our marketplaces, with our two most recent regional auction events in September registering more than 20,000+ online bidders combined,” said Doug Olive, Senior Vice President (Pricing), Ritchie Bros. “Transportation equipment prices are hitting new record levels, while medium earthmoving, aerial, and vocational truck prices also continue to climb.”

Doug Rusch, Managing Director of Rouse Sales, added, “Used equipment is transacting at the highest price levels we’ve seen in five years at Rouse. In fact, the rise in retail values is accelerating, with values in August and September increasing at a more significantly rapid rate than the first half of 2021. Coinciding with the rise in retail values,

which climbed an additional 3% in September, we have seen a moderate decline in used equipment sales volumes, as used supply remains tight across the industry and fleet owners carefully manage available inventory.”

Rocket Pro TPO Announces Major Initiatives to Grow, Strengthen and Protect Mortgage Brokers’ Businesses

Company brings Rocket Tech, the Rocket Network and Rocket Marketing to mortgage brokers across the country

PR Newswire

DETROIT, Oct. 19, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Rocket Pro TPO, the division of Rocket Mortgage working exclusively with independent mortgage brokers, today announced several innovations to help brokers grow, strengthen and protect their businesses. One year ago today, Quicken Loans Mortgage Services (QLMS) rebranded to Rocket Pro TPO. At the time, Austin Niemiec, Rocket Pro TPO Executive Vice President, promised brokers the change represented more than a new name – it was a commitment that brokers would benefit from innovative Rocket Technology, relationships and the Rocket brand to help their businesses thrive. Today’s announcement is a further extension of that commitment.

“We believe true leaders help brokers succeed. They view the world with a limitless mindset. The mortgage market is huge, the pie is nearly infinite and it’s our responsibility to help the brokers who work with us get a bigger piece of it,” said Niemiec.  “Today’s announcement is about breaking barriers and building bridges – helping brokers leverage the tools, resources and knowledge Rocket Mortgage has built as the nation’s largest mortgage lender.”

Rocket Technology

As a true partner to mortgage brokers, Rocket Pro TPO committed to deliver $100 million of Rocket technology to its broker partners in 2021. The lender has delivered many game-changing tools – including Pathfinder, the proprietary mortgage guideline search engine; Rocket Connect, providing brokers communication with underwriters and operational leaders directly in the broker portal and Rocket Pro TPO’s new pricing calculator that can deliver brokers a pricing estimate quickly and easily.

Today, Rocket Pro TPO is announcing one of the biggest tech additions in years. Brokers’ clients can now use a brand-new Rocket Pro TPO Client Portal, to upload and eSign their mortgage documents. The brokers will also be able to choose how to brand the portal – they can have their brand stand alone or co-brand it with Rocket, showing they are aligned with industry-leading technology. This new technology will save brokers time and help them grow their businesses.

Rocket Pro TPO has been piloting this new client portal with its Pinnacle Partners the last several months and will be onboarding more partners each week until the national launch in December. Just like with all Rocket technology, the team will be continually innovating, acting on feedback and growing the resource.

Rocket Network

There are nearly 2 million licensed real estate agents in the country. Roughly 170,000 real estate professionals, or just eight percent of all agents, have closed a loan with one of Rocket Pro TPO’s broker partners in the last 12 months. With today’s announcements, Rocket Pro TPO will help its partners connect with more real estate professionals and leverage those relationships to grow their businesses.

One of the ways brokers can meet more agents is through Rocket Homes, a technology-driven real estate service provider. The company has a fast-growing 50-state home search site and a nationwide network of nearly 25,000 verified partner agents. Many homebuyers who visit the Rocket Homes site are not working with a mortgage company. Starting this week, however, when Rocket Homes connects homebuyers with one of its partner agents, the company will also introduce select buyers to one of Rocket Pro TPO’s Pinnacle Partners.

Rocket Pro TPO is also connecting brokers with real estate agents through “Pro Mixers,” networking events where brokers can benefit from the agent relationships Rocket has forged over the last 36 years. The first Pro Mixer will be in November with 200 real estate agents and Rocket Pro TPO partners coming together in San Francisco. The company will be sharing details of other Pro Mixer events across the country in the months to come.

As Rocket Pro TPO’s partners grow their relationships with agents, the company is actively ensuring those relationships are protected. If a broker partner closes a loan with a real estate professional, Rocket Mortgage will not proactively reach out to the agent. To manage this, Rocket Pro TPO has built a proprietary tracking engine, which will be featured in the broker portal, detailing which agents each broker is working with to ensure those relationships are protected.

“We know our broker partners work hard to establish connections with local real estate professionals and we want to protect those relationships,” Niemiec added.  “We will honor these connections, while also leveraging our Rocket platform to help brokers create new partnerships. The truth is, there is plenty of business for everyone to be successful in the mortgage market and this is yet another example of Rocket Pro TPO’s commitment to invest in our broker partners.”

Rocket Marketing

Rocket Mortgage has spent more than $5 billion on marketing since the company was founded. With that comes experience and lessons on how to leverage marketing spend to make the biggest impact. Today, Rocket Pro TPO is launching a completely rebuilt Marketing Hub – providing marketing materials right in the broker portal. The new Marketing Hub has been redesigned to be more intuitive, searchable and easier to use. It also provides more customization than ever before, giving brokers the ability to change the font, color and images on marketing materials to fit their brand. Brokers can also easily create marketing materials that use their own brand, or co-brand with Rocket or their real estate partners. Most importantly, there is a new learning center that gives brokers advice and training so they can use their marketing budget to generate more business.

Rocket Connect

One year ago, the company created Rocket Connect, an easy way for brokers to communicate with underwriters at Rocket Pro TPO. The company knows brokers need to move fast, especially in this hot purchase market. To make sure all loans keep moving forward, Rocket Pro TPO is adding two big enhancements to the tool. The company committed to an industry-leading, two-hour response window for all Rocket Connect inquiries. In addition, Rocket Connect now gives brokers the ability to immediately escalate to Operations leaders. The new additions to Rocket Connect are now live in the Rocket Pro TPO broker portal.

This extensive list of innovations is just the latest commitment by Rocket Pro TPO to the broker community. Earlier this year, Rocket Mortgage added a national mortgage broker directory to its website, placing local brokers in front of the site’s nearly 115 million unique annual visitors. Rocket Pro TPO presented the only national Super Bowl commercial focused on mortgage brokers – which was ranked the second-best ad in the game by USA Today Ad Meter. The company was also the primary sponsor of the historic #16 Chevrolet in the Indianapolis 500 – the first-ever entrant in the Indianapolis 500 from a team that is female-owned, female driven and largely female crewed.

The company is committed to working with mortgage brokers as true partners, using its size and expertise to help them grow their businesses.

About Rocket Pro TPO

Rocket Pro TPO, is a division of Rocket Mortgage, and a part of Rocket Companies, Inc. (NYSE: RKT). It works exclusively with mortgage brokers, community banks and credit unions. Rocket Pro TPO’s partners provide the face-to-face service their clients desire, while tapping into the technology, expertise and award-winning process from Rocket Mortgage. The partner loan officer creates, and maintains, the relationship with the client. Rocket Mortgage approves, underwrites, processes and closes the loan in its name.

PyroGenesis Secures $1.15 MM Phase 2 Contract Award from Innovative Solutions Canada to Develop a Hybrid Ceramic Powder Processing System

MONTREAL, Oct. 19, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — PyroGenesis Canada Inc. ( (NASDAQ: PYR) (TSX: PYR) (FRA: 8PY), a high-tech Company (hereinafter referred to as the “Company” or “PyroGenesis”), that designs, develops, manufactures and commercializes advanced plasma processes and sustainable solutions to reduce greenhouse gases, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded an Innovative Solutions Canada (ISC) Phase 2 (Prototype Development) contract of approximately $ 1.15 MM to develop a unique hybrid ceramic powder (HCP) processing system for the National Research Council Canada, Canada’s largest federal research and development organization.

Carbon nanotubes hold significant potential for mechanical reinforcement in composite materials, including ceramic composites. However, the bundling of the carbon nanotubes has prevented this potential from being realized. PyroGenesis’ system utilizes a thermal plasma process to simultaneously synthesize carbon nanotubes and deposit them on a ceramic powder within a single plasma reactor. PyroGenesis is in the process of building an integrated and automated system to produce high quality ceramic powder products in a safe, economical, and highly scalable manner. PyroGenesis would first optimize the process, then finalize the design and manufacturing of the system. The Phase 2 project follows a successful Phase 1 proof of concept.

“The main competitive advantage of our solution is the ability to process ceramic powder in the same reactor as the carbon nanotube synthesis, allowing for production in a single step,” said Mr. Pierre Carabin, CTO and Chief Strategist of PyroGenesis. “We believe this process will prove far more efficient and scalable than conventional technologies such as the Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) process. Additionally, we believe that our technology is capable of processing a variety of composite materials, which could lead to the development of new IP and product lines for other specialty powder production technologies.”

“This Phase 2 award reflects our commitment to developing innovative technology solutions,” said Mr. P. Peter Pascali, CEO and Chair of PyroGenesis. “The success of this innovative process would allow us to further expand our capabilities in carbon nanotube and specialty powder production. In addition to its commercial potential, this process provides numerous environmental benefits. For instance, the main source of energy to drive the plasma torch will be renewable hydroelectric power.   We are extremely proud to have been chosen by the Government of Canada for this award, and believe our selection aligns with the goals of this program by supporting technological innovation and fostering economic development.”

About PyroGenesis Canada Inc.

PyroGenesis Canada Inc., a high-tech company, is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and commercialization of advanced plasma processes and sustainable solutions which reduce greenhouse gases (GHG), and are economically attractive alternatives to conventional “dirty” processes. PyroGenesis has created proprietary, patented and advanced plasma technologies that are being vetted and adopted by multiple multibillion dollar industry leaders in four massive markets: iron ore pelletization, aluminum, waste management, and additive manufacturing. With a team of experienced engineers, scientists and technicians working out of its Montreal office, and its 3,800 m2 and 2,940 m2 manufacturing facilities, PyroGenesis maintains its competitive advantage by remaining at the forefront of technology development and commercialization.  The operations are ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D certified, having been ISO certified since 1997.
