On July 16, 2026, according to the complaint, Bloomberg reported that Google is “months behind schedule on delivering Gemini 3.5 Pro, its most powerful flagship AI model” due to the Company’s ongoing coding efforts and that “[l]ate last month, Google updated the data being used to train Gemini in an attempt to improve [its] skills, but the results were disappointing.”

Walmart and Base Power Announce a Strategic Agreement to Bring Affordable Home Backup Power and Energy Savings to Customers

Walmart and Base Power Announce a Strategic Agreement to Bring Affordable Home Backup Power and Energy Savings to Customers

Agreement combines Walmart’s scale and Base Power’s home energy expertise to expand consumer access to affordable, reliable energy solutions

BENTONVILLE, Ark.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
Walmart today announced a strategic investment in Base Power, a Texas-based energy company, along with an agreement that will make Base’s home energy offerings available to Walmart customers and Sam’s Club members – expanding access to affordable energy solutions that can benefit both households and the grid. Base’s home battery systems are designed to help lower energy costs when the grid is on and provide backup power when it’s not.

Beginning in November, customers and members who enroll in an eligible Base home battery offering at participating Walmart and Sam’s Club locations will receive 20% off Base Power’s standard upfront battery installation fee.

More Options for Home Energy

Base Power installs, owns and maintains its home battery systems, with customers paying an upfront installation fee, which is a fraction of the cost of traditional whole-home backup solutions. In eligible areas of Texas, Base also offers electricity plans designed to help customers lower their bills.

“We’ve built Base around a simple idea: families deserve electricity that’s affordable when the grid is working and dependable backup power when it isn’t,” said Zach Dell, CEO of Base Power. “Walmart has been helping Americans save money and live better for more than 60 years. Base brings that same commitment to home energy, and we’re excited to do it together.”

“Customers and members count on Walmart and Sam’s Club to help them make the most of their budgets,” said Shayne Wahlmeier, SVP of Walmart Energy. “Base Power gives them a practical way to help lower energy costs, have backup power during outages and support a more reliable grid. We’re proud to make these solutions more accessible through Walmart and Sam’s Club.”

Starting in Texas

Texas is Base Power’s largest and most established market, where Base serves more than 35,000 members. More than 20,000 of those households have a Base battery at home, and the remaining members have their electricity from Base. Walmart is launching these offerings in Texas first and expects to expand to additional locations and markets over time.

Product availability, savings potential, installation requirements and pricing vary by location, utility service area and customer circumstances.

Customers and members can meet with Base representatives at participating Walmart and Sam’s Club locations to learn about available services, ask questions and enroll.

BETA Completes 14 All-Electric Flights Across Florida Under U.S. DOT and FAA’s eVTOL Integration Pilot Program

BETA Completes 14 All-Electric Flights Across Florida Under U.S. DOT and FAA’s eVTOL Integration Pilot Program

BETA’s ALIA CTOL (CX300) aircraft flew nearly 700 nautical miles in Florida, including the route of the world’s first scheduled airline flight

BETA is flying as a partner in the eIPP project led by the Florida Department of Transportation, one of eight selected nationwide

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. & TAMPA BAY, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
BETA Technologies (NYSE: BETA) (“BETA”), an aerospace and defense company, has completed 14 flights across Florida, covering nearly 700 nautical miles, under the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Integration Pilot Program (eIPP). BETA is a partner in Florida’s eIPP project, alongside lead participant Florida Department of Transportation, Republic Airways, Brickyard Connection and Metro Aviation. BETA’s conventional fixed-wing electric aircraft, the ALIA CTOL, has flown across the Orlando and Tampa regions, including routes from St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (KPIE) and Albert Whitted Airport (KSPG) to Tampa International Airport (KTPA).

“The eIPP lets us fly electric aircraft in the National Airspace System alongside our customers to evaluate how the aircraft perform in real-world operations,” said Kyle Clark, founder and chief executive officer of BETA. “ALIA is all-electric and mechanically simple, so it’s inexpensive to operate and maintain, and we built the charging network in parallel. Florida invested early, and our chargers are now at nine sites from the Panhandle to the Space Coast. Earlier this year, the aircraft and the network together supported high-cadence operations with Republic Airways along the I-4 corridor, up to nine flights a day at under $17 in energy per flight. We’ve logged more than 250,000 nautical miles across our CTOL and VTOL fleet to get here. The eIPP is where we put that experience to work, on the routes our customers will fly in commercial service.”

BETA’s flights from Albert Whitted Airport in St. Petersburg to Tampa International follow the route of the world’s first scheduled commercial airline flight, which Tony Jannus flew in 1914.

“Florida is helping safely integrate these new aircraft into the airspace system and prove that the next great era of American aviation is already here,” said FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford. “Each flight provides crucial data and lessons learned that will help establish safety standards for everyday operations.”

“More than 100 years ago, Florida helped launch the commercial aviation industry. Today, we are helping shape the next era of flight,”said Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Jared W. Perdue, P.E. “Through strategic investments, statewide planning, and partnerships with some of the industry’s top innovators, Florida is creating the infrastructure and policies needed to safely integrate Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) into our transportation system. These flights demonstrate how we are turning vision into reality.”

Earlier this year, BETA signed an agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation to supply 34 chargers and thermal management systems. Florida is home to BETA’s largest charging network in the U.S., with chargers currently online at nine sites:

  • Bob Sikes Airport (KCEW)

  • Duke Field (KEGI)

  • Tallahassee International Airport (KTLH)

  • Jacksonville Executive at Craig Airport (KCRG)

  • Gainesville Regional Airport (KGNV)

  • Tampa International Airport (KTPA)

  • SunTrax Advanced Air Mobility Facility

  • Kissimmee Gateway Airport (KISM)

  • Space Coast Regional Airport (KTIX)

BETA’s chargers are multimodal and interoperable, and designed to integrate with existing airport infrastructure. They are UL-certified and use the Combined Charging System (CCS) standard, so any CCS-compliant electric vehicle, in the air or on the ground, can charge at a BETA site.

“We believed in Kyle Clark and his team long before most people understood what electric aviation could mean for our industry,” said Todd Stanberry, vice president and co-owner of Metro Aviation. “What I love about these demonstrations is that we’re not just talking about the possibilities anymore. We’re seeing them happen. Whether it’s moving passengers, cargo or patients, BETA continues to show us why we believed in them from day one.”

BETA’s ALIA family includes the ALIA CTOL and an electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (the ALIA VTOL), built for passenger, cargo, medical, emergency response, and defense missions.

Florida is the host of BETA’s last eIPP kickoff event. BETA is participating in seven of the eight programs selected by the FAA and U.S. DOT, which together span 26 states, including Virginia, Maryland, Louisiana, Texas, North Carolina, Utah, New York, Vermont and now Florida. Across these programs, BETA, its customers and state and local partners are flying electric aircraft in real operating environments, integrating them into the National Airspace System (NAS) and generating the operational data the FAA and U.S. DOT need to shape the rules for safe, routine commercial service.

The complaint alleges, among other things, that throughout the Class Period, Defendants made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that “(i) the generative AI video creative feature for the Company’s AppLovin Ads platform was subject to significant development delays, making its release on the Company’s timeline unlikely,” and “(ii) Defendants overstated the constancy with which AppLovin was improving its AI models.”

Residential milestone underscores strong demand for the 70-story Long Island City tower, with more than 750 units leased since January amid New York City’s competitive rental market

A Media Snippet accompanying this announcement is available by clicking on this link.

NEW YORK, Oct. 30, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — BLDG Management Co., Inc., a full-service, vertically-integrated real estate investment, management and development firm, today announced that The Orchard, Queens’ tallest tower, has surpassed 90% leased across its 824 residences just nine months after launching residential leasing. The milestone comes as the 70-story Long Island City development recently signed its first three retail tenants: K-beauty brand Tokimo, Japanese tea and beverage brand Mollytea and financial technology platform Intuit.

Together, the three tenants have leased more than 7,468 square feet, with limited retail space remaining. All of the tenants will make their Long Island City debut and are expected to open in 2027, further expanding The Orchard’s resident experience and its connection to the surrounding community.

“The Orchard was designed to be more than a place to live, with residences, amenities and services that give people opportunities to live, work and connect right at home,” said Lloyd Goldman, President of BLDG Management. “BLDG has been part of the Long Island City community for more than 60 years, and we wanted The Orchard to build on that legacy by creating a place that serves both residents and the broader neighborhood. Surpassing 90% leased in just nine months reflects the demand for what we’ve created, while the addition of Tokimo, Mollytea, and Intuit will make The Orchard an even more dynamic destination for residents and the LIC community.”

Beauty, Financial Services and F&B Brands Join The Orchard as First Retail Tenants

Located along the North side of Jackson Avenue, The Orchard features approximately 14,000 square feet of retail space designed to serve both residents and the broader neighborhood.

Tokimo’s new 2,251-square-foot location will bring its distinctive K-beauty experience to Long Island City, offering a curated selection of sought-after skincare products and premium brands. Expected to open by Spring 2027, the store will build on the success of Tokimo’s Flushing and East Rutherford, New Jersey locations and mark the brand’s third outpost.

“As demand for K-beauty continues to grow, opening our third store at Queens’ tallest tower felt like a natural fit,” said Kai Zhang, CEO at Tokimo. “Long Island City is home to a young and diverse community that is increasingly interested in K-beauty and premium skincare, and we’re excited to bring a new Tokimo experience to the neighborhood with the products and brands our customers already love.”

Intuit, the global financial technology platform behind brands including TurboTax, QuickBooks, Credit Karma and Mailchimp, leased 3,546 square feet and is expected to open in December 2026.

Additional retailers include Mollytea, the global tea and beverage brand originating in Shenzhen, which is expanding from its Mott Street location with a new 1,671-square-foot lease and is expected to open in Q2 2027.

Residential Leasing Momentum at Queens’ Newest Skyline Icon

The arrival of The Orchard’s first retail tenants builds on its strong residential momentum, with the development surpassing the 90% leasing milestone just nine months after launching residential leasing. Of the 824 residences, comprising 576 market-rate and 248 affordable homes, limited availability remains, including spacious one-, two- and three-bedroom residences designed to accommodate today’s flexible lifestyles, with room for working from home, entertaining, wellness and everyday living. Residences are offered across four collections: The Residences, The Terrace Collection, The Premier and Penthouse Collection and The Sky Collection, with select homes featuring private outdoor spaces.

Demand has been particularly strong for The Orchard’s premium residences, with its 70th-floor Sky Collection now fully leased. Among the remaining offerings, the Terrace Collection features oversized private terraces that deliver an indoor-outdoor living experience rarely found at this scale in New York City rentals, while the Premier and Penthouse Collection offers elevated finishes, ceilings up to 11 feet and expansive layouts with sweeping skyline views.

“Today’s renters are prioritizing a lifestyle that offers both value and convenience, and they are increasingly expanding their search beyond Manhattan to find it,” said Jodi Stasse, Executive Vice President of New Developments at The Corcoran Group, the exclusive marketing and leasing agent for The Orchard. “The Orchard delivers an exceptional residential experience with thoughtfully designed homes, robust amenities, and seamless access to Manhattan. Its strong leasing momentum underscores both the property’s appeal and Long Island City’s continued growth as one of New York City’s most dynamic residential neighborhoods.”

The Orchard offers more than 100,000 square feet of amenities, anchored by New York City’s largest private backyard, a 60,000-square-foot landscaped retreat with an apple orchard, resort-style pool and three pickleball courts. Additional highlights include an indoor basketball court developed in collaboration with NBA skills trainer Chris Brickley, an aquatic center, fitness and coworking spaces and a 70th-floor Sky Lounge overlooking the New York City skyline.

Minutes from Midtown Manhattan, The Orchard is surrounded by Long Island City’s cafés, shops, destination dining, green spaces and cultural institutions, including MoMA PS1 and The Noguchi Museum. Kaplan Fox Reminds DICK’s Sporting Goods, Inc. (NYSE: DKS) Investors of an Approaching Securities Class Action Deadline on November 3, 2026

NEW YORK, Oct. 30, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Kaplan Fox & Kilsheimer LLP announces that a class action lawsuit has been filed against DICK’s Sporting Goods, Inc. (“Dick’s Sporting Goods” or the “Company”) (NYSE: DKS) on behalf of investors that purchased or otherwise acquired Dick’s Sporting Goods common stock between September 8, 2025 and August 24, 2026 (the “Class Period”).

DEADLINE REMINDER: If you are a member of the proposed Class, you may move the court no later than November 3, 2026 for an opportunity to be lead plaintiff for the purported class. If you have losses we encourage you to contact us to learn more about the lead plaintiff process. You need not seek to become a lead plaintiff in order to share in any possible recovery.

On September 8, 2025, the first day of the Class Period, Dick’s Sporting Goods announced the completion of its acquisition of Foot Locker, Inc. (“Foot Locker”) for approximately $2.5 billion in cash and stock.

The complaint alleges that throughout the Class Period, Defendants misled investors regarding the Company’s acquisition of Foot Locker, touting the acquisition as a strategic opportunity to drive growth and profitability while assuring investors that Foot Locker’s longstanding inventory and promotional challenges had been resolved. In reality, according to the complaint, those problems persisted, as Foot Locker remained heavily dependent on legacy footwear products that were exposed to intensifying promotional pressures across the athletic footwear industry.

The truth was allegedly revealed to investors before markets opened on August 25, 2026, when Dick’s Sporting Goods reported disappointing second-quarter 2026 results, which included revenue of $1.73 billion from Foot Locker that fell well short of analysts’ estimates of $1.81 billion. Dick’s Sporting Goods also reduced its net sales guidance for full-year 2026 and disclosed that it expected Foot Locker’s proforma comparable sales to yield a range of negative 2.0% to 0.0% for the year—down from Dick’s prior forecast of 1.5% to 3% growth.

On this news, the price of Dick’s Sporting Goods stock fell $55.02 per share, or 30.68%, to close at $124.31 per share on August 25, 2026.

Joby Brings Its Vertical Takeoff and Landing Air Taxi to Florida

Joby Brings Its Vertical Takeoff and Landing Air Taxi to Florida

  • Joby begins a week-long series of flights across Florida with its all-electric vertical lift air taxi, in partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation

  • Flights are part of the White House-backed eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP), accelerating the safe introduction of electric air taxis across the U.S.

  • Campaign opens with a historic flight across Tampa Bay from downtown St. Petersburg to Tampa International Airport, retracing the world’s first scheduled commercial airline route

TAMPA, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
Joby Aviation, Inc. (NYSE: JOBY) today launches a week of piloted electric air taxi flights across Florida, taking its aircraft from Tampa to Orlando and on to the Space Coast. The aircraft will fly at Orlando International Airport and Kennedy Space Center, helping map the first phase of Florida’s planned Aerial Highway Network. These are Florida’s first flights under the White House-backed eIPP program, announced by the U.S. Department of Transportation in March 2026. The program brings government and industry together to accelerate the safe introduction of electric air taxis into U.S. airspace.

Florida is where commercial aviation began more than a century ago, and this week it once again takes center stage as Joby launches its statewide flight campaign with a historic journey across Tampa Bay. The flight from downtown St. Petersburg to Tampa International Airport retraces the route flown on January 1, 1914, when aviation pioneer Tony Jannus carried former St. Petersburg Mayor Abe Pheil across the bay on the world’s first scheduled commercial airline flight. Floridians will have a front-row seat to the next chapter in aviation history as Joby brings its electric air taxi to the same skies. The milestone will be celebrated at Albert Whitted Park, where residents, families, tourists and aviation enthusiasts are invited to gather and watch the aircraft take flight and be part of a new moment in Florida’s aviation history.

The Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) project was one of eight selected nationwide and is a statewide effort with multiple industry partners, planned in three phases covering passenger transportation, cargo delivery, automation and medical response.

Florida has been preparing for this moment for years, FDOT has led statewide Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) planning since 2021. In April 2026, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed House Bill 1093, which allows FDOT to fund vertiport infrastructure statewide. FDOT is also building SunTrax Air, a dedicated AAM test campus off Interstate 4 that is home to the nation’s first dedicated AAM aerial test track, where AAM testing is planned to begin by the end of 2026. Together they make Florida an attractive place for Joby to operate, and this week’s eIPP flights are the first step toward commercial service in the state.

Throughout the week, Joby will fly in the first planned hubs of Florida’s Aerial Highway Network, the state’s planned intercity air taxi system*:

  • Tampa Bay: Point-to-point flight on Oct. 30 from Albert Whitted Airport (SPG) in downtown St. Petersburg to Tampa International Airport (TPA). Community members are invited to watch the takeoff and a live stream of the flight from Albert Whitted Park beginning at 8:45 a.m., at a community event hosted by the City of St. Petersburg celebrating the world’s first scheduled commercial airline flight.
  • Orlando: Flight at Orlando International Airport (MCO) landing near the airport’s Terminal C and Train Station at a new vertiport, a dedicated eVTOL landing site, flown on routes and enabled by procedures developed over two years of simulation with the FAA, NASA, the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority and Orlando air traffic controllers.
  • Kennedy Space Center: Flight at the Shuttle Landing Facility during the UP.Summit, bringing the aircraft to the home of American spaceflight before industry leaders where the country’s aerospace ambitions launched more than 60 years ago.

“More than a century ago, Florida made history with the world’s first commercial airline flight. Today, Florida is helping lead the next generation in aviation,” said JoeBen Bevirt, founder and CEO of Joby. “From Tampa Bay to Orlando and the Space Coast, we’re giving Floridians a glimpse of a future where quiet, all-electric aircraft make it easier and faster to connect the places people live, work and visit. Florida has the vision, the destinations and the ambition to lead this transformation, and we’re proud to work alongside FDOT to turn that vision into reality.”

Today, we are helping shape the next era of flight,” said Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Jared W. Perdue, P.E. “Through strategic investments, statewide planning, and partnerships with some of the industry’s top innovators, Florida is creating the infrastructure and policies needed to safely integrate Advanced Air Mobility into our transportation system. These flights demonstrate how we are turning vision into reality.”

Joby’s commitment to Florida predates this week’s flights. Blade, Joby’s wholly owned subsidiary, has flown passengers between the New York area and South Florida since 2015 and will relaunch its BLADEone jet service to Miami and Palm Beach in November in partnership with private jet airline Aero. This service gives Joby an established customer base, ground infrastructure and experience in the state as it prepares to introduce electric air taxi service.

Florida is the final stop on Joby’s 2026 Electric Skies Tour, a nationwide showcase celebrating the United States’ 250th anniversary, following flights in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York, Dallas-Fort Worth and ending at Kennedy Space Center. As Joby continues to move through the final stages of FAA type certification, the eIPP flight campaign provides the FAA and state partners with critical operational data on airport integration, acoustics and vertiport procedures ahead of commercial launch.
