The future site of the 20,000-seat facility located on 46 acres near U.S. 75 and Highway 121 will be a first-of-its-kind premium live music venue in Texas, slated to open in third quarter 2026.

The Friday, June 13, event featured a song swap from one of Texas’s most beloved singer-songwriters, Robert Earl Keen, and Turnpike Troubadours’ Evan Felker. The invite-only evening kicked off with a social hour and remarks from VENU Founder and CEO J.W. Roth, McKinney Mayor George Fuller, McKinney Mayor-elect Bill Cox, and leaders from the McKinney Economic Development Corporation and McKinney Community Development Corporation. After the official groundbreaking, Robert Earl Keen and Even Felker entertained guests by performing country music.
