FirstEnergy Customers Can Get Help with Summer Electric Bills

, Aug. 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Staying cool during Ohio’s hot summer months shouldn’t cause financial stress. That’s why Ohio Edison, The Illuminating Company and Toledo Edison, subsidiaries of FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: FE), are encouraging residential customers to take advantage of the Home Energy Assistance (HEAP) Summer Crisis Program, available for a limited time.

What the HEAP Summer Crisis Program Offers

Now through September 30, eligible customers can get up to $500 in one-time assistance for:

  • Paying electric bills
  • Repairing central air conditioning
  • Purchasing air conditioning unit and/or fans

More Ways to Get Help All Year Long
