Both ETFs will continue to be managed by Zevenbergen Capital Investments LLC (ZCI), an investment manager of Virtus Investment Partners, retaining the high-growth equity investment strategies of the predecessor mutual funds.
- Virtus Zevenbergen Innovative Growth ETF (ZINN) seeks long-term capital appreciation by investing in a concentrated portfolio of companies across capitalizations and life cycle stages that ZCI believes exhibit strong growth prospects.
- Virtus Zevenbergen Discovery Growth ETF (ZDIS) seeks long-term capital appreciation by investing in a concentrated portfolio of companies across capitalizations in the early stages of their life cycle that ZCI believes exhibit exceptional growth prospects, often driven by technological advancement.
“The introduction of ZINN and ZDIS expands Virtus’ lineup of actively managed ETF strategies and gives investors access to Zevenbergen Capital Investments’ distinctive approach to growth investing through a vehicle which offers intraday tradability, full transparency, and tax efficiencies,” said William J. Smalley, executive managing director, Virtus ETF Solutions.
“Innovation is accelerating, and the founders challenging conventional wisdom are building the companies we believe will define the next decade. We want to thank the shareholders who have owned that research for more than a decade and recognize them by moving to an ETF structure that provides increased transparency and access. Virtus has been an exceptional partner, and we look forward to expanding that relationship through their ETF expertise and distribution reach,” said Nancy Zevenbergen, CFA, president and chief investment officer of Zevenbergen Capital Investments.

Risk Considerations
Exchange-Traded Funds (ETF): The value of an ETF may be more volatile than the underlying portfolio of securities it is designed to track. The costs to the portfolio of owning shares of an ETF may exceed the cost of investing directly in the underlying securities. Equity Securities: The market price of equity securities may be adversely affected by financial market, industry, or issuer-specific events. Focus on a particular style or on small, medium, or large-sized companies may enhance that risk. Foreign Investing: Investing in foreign securities subjects the portfolio to additional risks such as increased volatility; currency fluctuations; less liquidity; less publicly available information about the foreign investment; and political, regulatory, economic, and market risk. Limited Number of Investments: Because the portfolio has a limited number of securities, it may be more susceptible to factors adversely affecting its securities than a portfolio with a greater number of securities. Sector Focused Investing: Events negatively affecting a particular industry or market sector in which the portfolio focuses its investments may cause the value of the portfolio to decrease. Consumer Concentration: Because the portfolio is presently heavily weighted in the consumer sector, it will be impacted by that sector’s performance more than a portfolio with broader sector diversification. Technology Concentration: Because the portfolio is presently heavily weighted in the technology sector, it will be impacted by that sector’s performance more than a portfolio with broader sector diversification. Market Volatility: The value of the securities in the portfolio may go up or down in response to the prospects of individual companies and/or general economic conditions. Local, regional, or global events such as war or military conflict, terrorism, pandemic, or recession could impact the portfolio, including hampering the ability of the portfolio’s manager(s) to invest its assets as intended. Prospectus: For additional information on risks, please see the fund’s prospectus. Please consider a Fund’s investment objectives, risks, charges, and expenses before investing. Contact us at 888.383.0553 or visit virtus.com for a prospectus, which contains this and other information about the Fund. Read the prospectus carefully before investing.
