Williams Improves on Key Sustainability Metrics Amid Rising Energy Demand

TULSA, Okla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
Williams (NYSE: WMB) today released its 2025 Sustainability Report, highlighting its environmental, safety and operational performance amid rapidly growing demand for energy infrastructure to help power the next-generation economy.

The report highlights Williams’ progress across several key areas, including:

Managing emissions alongside growth

  • Achieved 28% reduction in carbon intensity-based emissions since 2018, while growing operations

  • Reduced methane emissions intensity and outperformed annual reduction targets

  • Achieved OGMP 2.0 Gold Standard Pathway status, demonstrating leadership in methane reporting

Meeting demand with safe, reliable and affordable energy

  • Achieved nearly 100% service reliability in 2025

  • Secured agreements for ~2.6 gigawatts of on-site natural gas power generation to serve hyperscalers and other large-load customers

  • Inspected a total of 4,216 miles of pipelines through the Williams Integrity Program.

  • Reduced employee recordable incident rate by 23% compared to 2024

Advancing lower-carbon solutions

  • Continued to develop carbon capture and sequestration projects, including infrastructure tied to the Louisiana Energy Gateway system capable of capturing significant volumes of CO2
  • Advanced NextGen Gas and emissions monitoring capabilities to improve transparency and reduce emissions across the value chain

  • Progressed solar and battery projects, including development of a large-scale solar facility in Lakeland, Florida, on reclaimed land

Supporting communities and employees

  • Contributed $14.9 million to charitable causes in communities across 46 states and the District of Columbia.

  • Volunteered with 85 nonprofit organizations in 17 states during Williams Volunteer Week

  • Participated in more than 600 community stakeholder engagement events

  • Delivered more than 236,000 hours of employee training around ethics and compliance, safety, cybersecurity and other topics

  • Named for the sixth consecutive year to the Dow Jones Best-in-Class™ North America Index and for the fifth consecutive year to the Dow Jones Best-in-Class™ World Index

  • Scored an ‘A−’ on the 2025 CDP Corporate Questionnaire for the third consecutive year

  • Included in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2026 as a member in the Oil and Gas Storage and Transportation industry

  • Upgraded to an ‘AAA’ MSCI ESG rating in 2026
