Experts Rank Interface Among Top Global Sustainability Leaders in 2025 Survey
Report by GlobeScan and the ERM Sustainability Institute Highlights Climate Change as the Most Urgent Sustainability Challenge
ATLANTA–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
Interface, Inc. (NASDAQ: TILE), the global flooring solutions company, has been named a global sustainability leader in the Sustainability Leaders 2025 Survey by GlobeScan and the ERM Sustainability Institute for the 28th consecutive year. Interface ranked sixth in this year’s report and remains the only company to appear in every report since 1997.
The annual survey asked 391 sustainability experts across 57 countries to name companies that successfully integrate sustainability into their business strategies. Eight percent of respondents named Interface without any prompting – up two percentage points from last year. The ranking reflects growing recognition of Interface’s climate leadership and bold ambition to be carbon negative by 2040.
“Sustainability is core to who we are as a company. For over three decades, we’ve proven that business can thrive while tackling the climate crisis head-on,” said Laurel Hurd, CEO of Interface. “Our customers expect real climate action without compromise. And this recognition reinforces that our approach – focused on direct carbon reduction without offsets – is making a difference. We’re proud to stand alongside other global leaders and remain ‘all in’ on our goal to be carbon negative by 2040.”
Interface continues to make progress toward its bold climate goals, already surpassing the halfway point for each of its 2030 science-based targets, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). In 2024, Interface doubled down on its commitment to be carbon negative by 2040, without the use of offsets. It is investing in innovation projects that deliver more carbon reduction and storage, driving measurable impact across its operations and supply chain.
This year, Interface unveiled the first-ever carbon negative nora® rubber prototype and began incorporating captured carbon in its U.S. and European carpet tile manufacturing processes. These milestones reflect the company’s strategy to avoid, reduce, and store more carbon, while inspiring others to accelerate their own climate action.
