Blend Autopilot Gains Momentum as Tenth Lender Signs On
Whatcom Educational Credit Union (WECU) and Gate City Bank are among the latest lenders partnering with Blend to reimagine lending with agentic AI.
SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
Blend Labs, Inc. (NYSE: BLND) today announced that a tenth lender has signed on to Blend Autopilot, its agentic intelligence layer for home lending. The milestone comes six months after Autopilot began working on live loans and three months after becoming commercially available.
Alongside growing lender adoption, Autopilot is currently working on an average of more than 3,500 new loans per week, an annualized pace of nearly 200,000 loans, reflecting the accelerating deployment of agentic AI across banks, credit unions, and mortgage lenders.
Adoption grows across the home lending market
The latest lenders to sign on to Autopilot include Whatcom Educational Credit Union (WECU), one of Washington’s largest credit unions, as well as Gate City Bank and other lenders spanning community financial institutions, regional banks, and mortgage providers.
“We’re incredibly proud to be building alongside lenders who aren’t waiting for the future of lending, but helping create it,” said Nima Ghamsari, Co-founder and Head of Blend. “Every loan Autopilot works and every lender putting it into production helps our engineers make the system better, and moves us closer to a fundamentally different lending experience. That partnership has always been one of Blend’s greatest strengths. We’re moving fast, our customers are moving fast with us, and together we’re leading the agentic transformation of lending.”
Lenders are putting Autopilot to work across mortgage and home equity, with AI taking on work from document review and income review to borrower follow-ups, pre-underwriting, and closing QC.
Previously reported production results showed 10% to 15% higher pull-through, cycle times shortened by two to four days, and an average of 4.5 hours of fulfillment work automated per loan. For borrowers, that means less waiting and back-and-forth when buying a home, refinancing, or accessing the equity they’ve built.
Early results from Onity Mortgage
Onity Mortgage, an industry leading lender serving 1.4 million customers and one of Autopilot’s earliest adopters, began with Autopilot’s pre-underwriting agent.
“What Blend Autopilot has allowed us to do is continue to improve the customer self-serve experience,” said Patrick Joyce, VP of Digital Products at Onity Mortgage. “We’re seeing that our cycle times are improving, and then looking at the data, you can see why that is. You can see that customers are uploading documents when it’s convenient to them — this is weekends, this is after our business hours — and when they upload a document, instead of the document sitting there and being picked up hours later, Autopilot’s pre-underwriting agent is reviewing that automatically, determining if that’s the right document. And if not, then conditioning the customer back.”
Scaling intelligence across the lending lifecycle
Blend is building intelligence across the lending lifecycle, giving lenders one connected platform and operating model for deploying purpose-built AI across customer engagement, application orchestration, document intelligence, loan officer productivity, and closing quality.
Autopilot is the agentic intelligence layer behind that strategy, with purpose-built agents that can read a loan, identify what needs to happen next, and take action. Lenders can deploy Blend’s purpose-built agents or build their own through Blend’s MCP server, on the same foundation of lending data, 150+ integrations, workflows, and controls Blend has built over nearly 15 years.
The result is a platform where intelligence can scale across lending, rather than being added one use case at a time.
