Vishay Intertechnology Thick Film Power Resistors Deliver Increased Power Density to Save Space and Simplify Designs

Providing 650 W of Continuous Power, Devices Offer Customizable Cabling and Optional NTC Temperature Sensor Integration

MALVERN, Pa., Aug. 20, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today introduced a new series of thick film power resistors that deliver an industry-leading 650 W of continuous power in a low profile package. Offering customizable cabling and optional temperature sensing integration, Vishay MCB RPWA 650 series devices reduce component counts, saving space while simplifying designs and assembly.

The high power capabilities and compact package of the devices released today allow designers to achieve higher power density, reducing the number of parallel resistors required. Their performance is supported by a “cold system” baseplate design that enables efficient heat transfer to an external heatsink (not supplied), maintaining stable operation over a wide temperature range from -55 °C to +155 °C.

To further streamline designs, RPWA 650 series devices integrate a power resistor and optional embedded NTC temperature sensor in a single housing. Customizable cabling and an easy-mount design with self-calibrating pressure eliminate the need for board-level soldering, reduce wiring and assembly complexity, and enable faster plug and play integration in power modules and assemblies.

Offering a wide range of resistance values from 6.2 Ω to 1 MΩ, with tolerances down to ± 5 %, the RPWA 650 series supports a variety of circuit functions, including precharge, discharge, active discharge, power conversion, and snubber operations. The devices are ideal for automotive, energy, industrial, medical, and avionics systems used in harsh environments.

The resistors provide high voltage capability with maximum operating voltage up to 6000 VDC, dielectric strength to 7000 VRMS, and typical self-inductance of ≤ 40 nH. For high voltage and fast-switching circuits, this combination enables accurate energy dissipation and minimizes transient overshoot. The devices also offer high pulse energy capability, supporting repetitive operation up to 3.5 J per pulse for 50 μs pulses. The RoHS-compliant resistors are pending AEC-Q200 qualification.

Samples and production quantities of the RPWA 650 series are available now, with lead times of 8 to 12 weeks.

Tactical Resources, A U.S.-Focused Rare Earth Elements Development Company, Begins Trading On Nasdaq Under Ticker Symbol “TREO”

One of Only a Few Near-Term, Scalable U.S. Rare Earth Opportunities

VANCOUVER, British Columbia–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Tactical Resources Corp (“Tactical” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: TREO), a U.S.-focused rare earth elements development company advancing one of only a few near-term, scalable domestic rare earth supply solutions, announced that its common shares will begin trading today on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the ticker symbol “TREO”.

Tactical is advancing the Peak Project, a rare earth elements project located within the active Sierra Blanca Quarry in Hudspeth County, Texas. The project benefits from existing infrastructure, previously mined and accessible rare earth-enriched material, and a unique mineralogical profile that supports simplified, clean processing. Tactical’s strategy is focused on accelerating the development of a domestic rare earth supply chain at a time of heightened geopolitical, industrial, and national security demand.

INVESTMENT HIGHLIGHTS

One of Only a Few Near-Term, Scalable U.S. Rare Earth Opportunities

  • Tactical controls access to an existing, operational quarry in Texas with multi-million-ton tailings already mined and available at surface, providing a meaningful head start relative to greenfield projects

  • The Company is positioned to supply rare earth feedstock without requiring decades of exploration, permitting, and infrastructure build-out

Unique Direct-to-Leach Hard Rock Mineralogy

  • The Peak Project is one of only a few known hard-rock rare earth deposits globally that are directly amenable to leaching, eliminating the need for energy-intensive roasting or cracking

  • This geological advantage materially simplifies processing, lowers capital intensity, and enables modular scalability

Clean, U.S.-Based Processing with Strategic National Importance

  • Tactical’s processing pathway is designed to be executed entirely on U.S. soil, reducing reliance on overseas refining and mitigating environmental and geopolitical risk

  • Rare earth elements are critical inputs for defense systems, advanced electronics, energy infrastructure, and next-generation manufacturing

Long Runway for Growth with Flexible Scale-Up Potential

  • Modular processing allows Tactical to scale throughput without duplicating full plant infrastructure, providing flexibility as demand evolves

  • Existing feedstock and infrastructure support accelerated commercialization timelines compared to peers

Experienced Leadership with Deep Operational Expertise

  • Tactical is led by a management team with decades of experience across mining, metallurgy, project development, and capital markets

  • Leadership has built, operated, and scaled complex mining and processing assets globally

“Tactical was built around a clear mission: to secure a domestic, clean, and scalable rare earth supply at a time when the United States needs it most,” Ranjeet Sundher, Chief Executive Officer of Tactical Resources. “The Peak Project gives us a rare combination of existing infrastructure, unique mineralogy, and near-term execution potential that we believe differentiates Tactical within the sector.”

About Tactical Resources

  • Financial pressure is affecting relationships: Nearly three in five respondents (59%) said they have felt scared or embarrassed to openly discuss finances with a partner, while 68% said they feel pressure at least sometimes to appear more financially successful than they are.
  • Money secrecy is common: Three in 10 respondents (30%) admitted hiding a purchase or financial decision from a spouse, partner or family member.
  • Major milestones are being delayed: Three-quarters of respondents (75%) said they have delayed at least one major life milestone because of their current financial situation.
  • Family financial support is widespread: Two-thirds of respondents (67%) said they have received financial assistance from family members or someone close to them.
  • Younger generations are feeling the pressure most: Gen Z respondents were more likely than older generations to report delaying major milestones and receiving financial support.

“The survey suggests money isn’t just influencing financial decisions; it’s influencing relationship dynamics, major life milestones and overall confidence,” said Marc Womack, Head of Client Experience, Strategy and Governance, TD Bank U.S. “Financial education and planning may help people better navigate these pressures, have more productive conversations and make more informed decisions about their future.”

Love, Lies and Money

The survey suggests conversations about money do not happen as often as they should. For some Americans, financial secrecy goes beyond the occasional hidden purchase. Respondents admitted to concealing everything from bad credit scores (21%) and credit card debt (16%) to gambling habits (14%) and even bank accounts (11%) from the people closest to them. Three in 10 respondents (30%) admitted hiding a purchase or financial decision from a spouse, partner or family member, while nearly one-quarter (23%) said someone close to them had hidden one from them. By comparison, only 39% of respondents supporting children under 18 reported complete financial transparency, compared with 53% of those without financial dependents.

Money Matters More in Modern Relationships

The survey also found that financial compatibility is becoming just as important as emotional compatibility, influencing everything from dating and marriage to how couples manage their money.

  • Love Has a Price Tag: More than seven in 10 respondents (72%) said financial stability is important when pursuing a serious relationship, including 41% who said it is very important that a partner be financially stable and able to help support the household if needed.
  • Debt Can Be a Dealbreaker: Nearly half of respondents (46%) said someone’s debt or financial habits would influence whether they pursued a serious relationship. Millennials (51%) and Gen Z (49%) were significantly more likely than Gen X (39%) and Baby Boomers (39%) to say it would affect their decision.
  • “I Do”… But Not to Shared Bank Accounts: 30% of respondents say couples should wait until after marriage to combine finances, while 13% believe finances should always remain separate.
  • Prenups Go Mainstream: More than half of respondents (54%) said they would consider signing a prenuptial agreement before marriage.

Financial Pressures Are Putting Life on Hold

The survey also revealed that affordability challenges are forcing many Americans to rethink the timing of major life decisions. From buying a home to starting a family, financial pressures are delaying milestones across generations, with three-quarters of respondents (75%) saying they have delayed at least one major life milestone because of their current financial situation. The most commonly delayed milestones were:

  • Paying off debt (23%)

  • Travel (21%)

  • Buying a car (17%)

  • Buying a home (17%)

  • Saving for retirement (15%).

The impact is especially pronounced among younger adults, with Gen Z far more likely than older generations to have postponed major life milestones. A striking 85% of Gen Z respondents said they have delayed at least one major life milestone, compared with 79% of Millennials, 66% of Gen X and 57% of Baby Boomers. Similarly, 84% of respondents supporting children under 18 said they have delayed at least one major life milestone, compared with 67% of respondents without financial dependents.

Families Are Stepping in to Help Bridge the Gap

Financial support has become a reality for many Americans, with 67% of respondents reporting they have received financial assistance from family members or someone close to them. The most common forms of support included help with everyday expenses or bills (24%), emergency financial support (21%), and assistance with credit card or debt payments, rent or mortgage payments, and car purchases or leases (15% each). The findings build on previous TD research, which found that family support is also playing an increasingly important role in homeownership, with 67% of first-time homebuyers receiving or expecting financial assistance from loved ones.

Younger Generations Are Most Likely to Lean on Loved Ones for Financial Support

Younger generations were the most likely to receive assistance, with 77% of Gen Z and 71% of Millennials reporting they have received financial support from family members or someone close to them, compared with 60% of Gen X and 45% of Baby Boomers. While nearly one-third (31%) of respondents who received support said they received less than $1,000 after becoming financially independent, 17% reported receiving $25,000 or more over time. Support also runs in the other direction, with 71% of respondents saying they have provided financial assistance to family members or someone close to them, most often for everyday expenses, emergencies and housing-related costs.

Americans Remain Focused on Building Financial Confidence

While many Americans continue to face financial challenges, they are focused on building a stronger financial future. More than half of respondents (57%) said higher income, more savings or emergency funds, or less debt would do the most to improve their financial confidence, with higher income ranking as the top priority (31%).

“Whether it’s navigating financial conversations with a partner, reaching a major life milestone or leaning on loved ones for support, confidence can be strengthened from understanding your financial situation and making informed decisions,” said Ashley Weeks, Wealth Strategist, TD Wealth®. “The survey shows that while many Americans face real financial pressures, they’re also focused on taking meaningful steps toward a stronger financial future.”

Lincoln Tech Celebrates 500th Graduate of Johnson Controls Academy

Program builds skilled talent pipeline to support increasingly complex, energy intensive environments

Parsippany, NJ, Aug. 20, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Lincoln Educational Services Corporation (NASDAQ: LINC), a national leader in specialized automotive and skilled trades career training, today announced the most recent class of graduates from the Johnson Controls (JCI) Academy included the program’s 500th graduate. This marks a significant milestone in developing the skilled workforce needed to support mission‑critical environments across the United States. Johnson Controls established the JCI Academy at Lincoln Tech’s Columbia, Maryland campus in 2022 to focus on training security and fire alarm installation and service technicians. A second location opened at Lincoln’s Denver campus in 2024.

The Academy builds on a broader partnership between Johnson Controls and Lincoln Tech that began in 2018 to train electricians, electronic service technicians and HVAC-R technicians at Lincoln Tech schools nationwide. Students who complete the program transition directly into full-time roles with Johnson Controls. To date, more than 500 participants have been trained across the HVAC-R, Data Center, Fire, and Security career fields.

“When we first partnered with Johnson Controls eight years ago, we were fully committed to assisting them in building their workforce any way we could,” says Scott Shaw, Lincoln Tech’s President and CEO. “Launching the JCI Academy was a major part of that commitment, helping to set students on
pathways to careers that align with market needs. Knowing that we’ve now surpassed 500 graduates from the highly specialized Johnson Controls Academy program is a proud moment for our campuses and for all of the people working to making this partnership as successful as it has been.”

“Demand for skilled talent continues to grow alongside the increasing complexity of the environments our customers operate,” said Alison Neuman, Program Manager, Workforce Development, Johnson Controls. “Through our partnership with Lincoln Tech, we’re building the skilled workforce that will deliver the mission-critical environments and thermal management solutions powering society’s most important industries.”

“This program is crucial to help aspiring future technicians or inspectors develop their skillset,” says Donnell Talley, who graduated from the JCI Academy at Columbia in March. Talley now works for Johnson Controls as a Fire Service Technician in New York.  “I can’t recommend or sing the praises of the Academy enough.”

The JCI Academy is a six-week advanced training program that focuses on security installation and fire services systems, providing a pathway to employment at JCI locations throughout the United States. JCI covers tuition, housing and relocation expenses for students in an effort to continue bridging the skills gap in the building technology field. A third JCI Academy site is slated to open later this year at Lincoln Tech’s Indianapolis campus.

Halliburton Labs Announces Three New Portfolio Companies

Halliburton Labs Announces Three New Portfolio Companies

Electroflow, Osmoses, and SiTration Join Halliburton Labs to Accelerate Commercialization and Industrial Scale-Up

HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
Halliburton Labs today announced the addition of three companies to its collaborative ecosystem: Electroflow, Osmoses, and SiTration. The selected ventures develop breakthrough technologies that address critical challenges in battery materials, resource recovery, and gas separations. These companies confront the material and process bottlenecks that stand between today’s energy system and tomorrow’s opportunities.

Halliburton Labs collaborates with early-stage hard-tech ventures to scale innovative technologies through industry expertise, world-class facilities, and a global network of industrial and investment partners.

“Affordable and reliable molecules are essential building blocks of the energy future,” said Andres Cabada, Halliburton Labs managing director. “Each company brings a bold, technical solution to a complex industrial challenge. We look forward to helping them scale and deploy their technologies.”

Electroflow

Electroflow helps secure domestic battery supply chains through the production of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode material directly from lithium brines. LFP is a critical component for affordable, safe, and long-lasting batteries used in electric vehicles, grid storage systems, and industrial electrification.

The company’s proprietary platform combines lithium extraction and cathode material production into a three-step process that can unlock low-concentration brine resources, support scalable domestic manufacturing, and strengthen North America’s battery supply chain.

Osmoses

Osmoses improves industrial gas separation, a critical process for fuels, chemicals, and other industrial products that consumes a significant portion of global energy.

Its membrane platform reduces the energy use, cost, and emissions associated gas separations for renewable natural gas, hydrogen, helium, and other industrial applications.

SiTration

SiTration unlocks a faster and lower-cost copper supply through the recovery of critical metals directly from mining waste streams. The company’s patented electro-extraction and filtration technologies support the recovery of market-grade copper in a single-step process powered solely by electricity.

With an estimated $500 billion of copper contained in mining waste globally, SiTration offers a faster, lower-cost pathway to resource recovery than new mine development. The company’s platform can also be used to recover precious metals and produce rare earth concentrates from diverse mining streams and has demonstrated success in pilot projects with Tier 1 mining companies on multiple continents.

Industrial Innovation at Scale

The addition of Electroflow, Osmoses, and SiTration reflects Halliburton Labs’ efforts to support entrepreneurs who develop practical solutions for the evolving energy and industrial landscape. Halliburton Labs provides the expertise, infrastructure, and relationships innovators require to scale and bring to market the technologies that will define the future of energy and industry.

About Halliburton Labs

Quanome Technologies Establishes Global Quantum Council and Scientific Advisory Network

International expert platforms bring together scientific expertise across four quantum streams to advance understanding, collaboration and real-world application

ITASCA, Ill., Aug. 20, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) —  Quanome Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: QNME), today announced the establishment of its Global Quantum Council and Scientific Advisory Network, bringing together recognised scientific and technical experts to strengthen the Company’s understanding of quantum science, advanced technologies and their potential applications across industry and society.

The initiative forms part of Quanome’s broader strategic vision to connect scientific expertise, technological development, industry and investment, with a focus on identifying developments that have the potential to deliver meaningful economic and societal impact. The Global Quantum Council is being established around four specialist streams:

  1. Quantum Systems – Advancing the science of quantum information, computing and communication systems.
  2. Molecular Discovery – Harnessing quantum science to accelerate the evolution of medicines that enhance access, accuracy and success of treatments for diseases and cancers
  3. Advanced Nuclear
Technologies – Applying quantum science to increase safety, efficiency and output of nuclear energy production, materials and adoption globally.
  4. Quantum-Safe Cybersecurity – Building the next generation of security for a quantum-enabled world.

Each stream is intended to draw on scientific and technical expertise relevant to its respective field. Together, the Council will provide an independent forum for scientific perspective, thought leadership and discussion around how quantum science can address real-world challenges and contribute to longer-term societal and economic progress.

Alongside the Council, Quanome’s Scientific Advisory Network will provide access to a broader group of specialist experts across quantum and related complex sciences, enabling the Company to engage specialist experts as opportunities arise, support scientific evaluation, explore collaborative initiatives and deepen its understanding of emerging technologies.

Yang Li, Chief Executive Officer of Quanome Technologies said,Quanome recognises the importance of bringing scientific expertise and commercial thinking together when considering the potential of quantum and complex sciences. We have already identified several subject matter experts within these four target areas of knowledge.  We are excited to finalise several of these relationships and formalize their involvement in the near term.  This is expected to be a critical aspect of our go-forward strategy in 2026 and beyond.

The two platforms are complementary. Their purpose is to broaden understanding of what is being achieved through quantum and complex science, highlight developments with practical potential, and encourage greater collaboration around initiatives that could make a tangible difference to industries, economies and societies.

Quanome intends to use the expertise and perspectives generated through these forums to help identify credible technologies, research initiatives, projects and applications that may warrant further scientific assessment, collaboration, strategic partnership or potential investment.

The Global Quantum Council and Scientific Advisory Network will operate as independent advisory forums, with participating experts contributing their own professional perspectives and expertise.

There is no single solution to the complex challenges facing industries and economies. Our objective is to engage and listen to those working at the forefront of these fields, understand where meaningful progress is being made, and help create greater awareness of the opportunities that may arise from it,
” added Li

The establishment of the two platforms represents an early step in Quanome’s strategy to develop stronger international scientific relationships and identify opportunities for future collaboration where advances in quantum science and related technologies may translate into practical, sustainable and commercially relevant outcomes.
