Semtech and Ripl Networks to Deliver IoT Tracking Solution for the U.S. Department of Defense with LoRa®

Semtech and Ripl Networks to Deliver IoT Tracking Solution for the U.S. Department of Defense with LoRa®

Collaboration integrates Semtech’s LoRa® devices with Ripl Networks’ IP mesh, 3D location tracking software to help secure naval ports

CAMARILLO, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Semtech Corporation (Nasdaq: SMTC), a leading supplier of high performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and advanced algorithms, announced Ripl Networks, the leader in IP networking for low power devices, has been selected by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to deploy an IP mesh, 3D tracking solution for foreign guest and fleet assets at naval ports.

This press release features multimedia. View the full release here: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20201203005234/en/

Semtech and Ripl (Graphic: Business Wire)

Semtech and Ripl (Graphic: Business Wire)

Semtech’s LoRa® devices provide the long range, low-bandwidth connectivity for Ripl’s IP over low power devices messaging system called MLMesh™. Ripl’s software enables Tiny Edge computing where low cost, machine learning emitters can live inside the Enterprise IP network. The combined technology enables low power devices to talk Internet Protocol (IP) at long distances while accurately tracking 3D locations without GPS or cellular towers.

“Ripl lets Tiny-Edge computers talk IP creating a long distance, wire-free extension of the IP WAN,” said Kerry Shih, CEO of Ripl Networks. “LoRa devices’ proven distance and low power enables Ripl to offer an IP fabric up to 20km from node to node with a battery life up to 10 years.”

The DoD was searching for 3D tracking of assets in a private, IP network that would support low power sensors. “After what we’ve seen demonstrated around the Port of Hueneme, I trust we’ll continue to see investment in progressive technologies like Tiny Edge computing and Ripl MLMesh,” said Alan Jaeger, Director of NavalX Ventura TechBridge at the Department of Navy. “Ripl and LoRa combine to secure this new class of networked computers using IP infrastructure versus creating a second data network just for IoT.”

The Port of Hueneme, the only deep-water harbor between Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay area, will be the first DoD deployment of the asset tracking solution. Port of Hueneme CEO & Port Director Kristin Decas said, “We are proud of our long history of vigilance when it comes to security on the port. Ripl will help further that mission with real-time, 3D location tracking of assets for which we are responsible.”

Ripl Networks will act as the systems integrator with other key technologies, including Avnet’s IoT Connect platform, which will serve as the backend system for data storage and monitoring.

“Semtech’s LoRa platform enables the rapid and scalable deployment of military-grade applications, such as Ripl Networks’ asset tracking solution,” said Marc Pegulu, Vice President of IoT Product Marketing for Semtech’s Wireless and Sensing Products Group. “We are pleased to assist the U.S. Department of Defense in its efforts to monitor and secure critical American assets.”

About Semtech’s LoRa® Platform

Semtech’s LoRa device-to-Cloud platform is a globally adopted long range, low power solution for IoT applications, enabling the rapid development and deployment of ultra-low power, cost efficient and long range IoT networks, gateways, sensors, module products, and IoT services worldwide. Semtech’s LoRa devices provide the communication layer for the LoRaWAN® protocol, which is maintained by the LoRa Alliance®, an open IoT alliance for Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) applications that has been used to deploy IoT networks in over 100 countries. TESSCO Urges Shareholders to Sign and Return GREEN Consent Revocation Card to Maintain Board Balance

TESSCO Urges Shareholders to Sign and Return GREEN Consent Revocation Card to Maintain Board Balance

Mr. Barnhill’s Pursuit of Control of TESSCO’s Board is Not in the Best Interests of Shareholders

HUNT VALLEY, Md.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
TESSCO Technologies Incorporated (NASDAQ: TESS), a leading value-added distributor and solutions provider for the wireless industry, today sent the following letter to shareholders urging them to sign and return TESSCO’s GREEN consent revocation card in order to prevent Robert B. Barnhill Jr. from taking control of TESSCO’s Board of Directors:

December 3, 2020

Dear TESSCO Shareholder,

We are writing to urge you to sign and return the GREEN consent revocation card to ensure that Mr. Barnhill cannot take control of the TESSCO Board by replacing a majority of the directors with his handpicked nominees.

Mr. Barnhill continues to assert that his goal is a refreshed Board. Yet, the TESSCO Board has already been substantially refreshed with five new directors added in the last three years. In fact, the Special Committee of the Board is open to more refreshment, and has attempted to work with Mr. Barnhill to reach a settlement under which two of Mr. Barnhill’s nominees would be added to the Board. Mr. Barnhill has rebuffed these attempts, and has not even responded to TESSCO’s most recent proposal or made any other effort to find a way to end this expensive and disruptive consent solicitation. It is time to allow our CEO, Sandip Mukerjee, and the rest of the management team to focus on their strategic plan and prioritize TESSCO’s turnaround to deliver value to shareholders.

Why is Mr. Barnhill refusing to engage in an effort to reach a resolution that is aligned with the preferred outcomes of independent proxy advisory firms Institutional Shareholder Services (“ISS”) and Glass Lewis & Co. (“Glass Lewis”) and in the best interest of all shareholders? Why is he still seeking control of the Board when both ISS and Glass Lewis indicated that shareholders would not be best served by Mr. Barnhill and his nominees obtaining control?

It is clear that Mr. Barnhill is not seeking what is best for TESSCO or its shareholders, but is instead focused on securing control of the TESSCO Board.

If shareholders consent to Mr. Barnhill’s plan, Mr. Barnhill will gain significant influence, and given his lackluster track record when in control, this will not enable TESSCO to achieve its long-term goals. It is imperative that shareholders protect the future of their investment and prevent Mr. Barnhill and his nominees from gaining control of the TESSCO Board by signing and returning the enclosed GREEN Consent Revocation Card TODAY.

TESSCO shareholders are reminded that their vote is important, no matter how many or how few shares they own. TESSCO urges you to support the TESSCO settlement proposal and your company’s Board by signing, dating and returning the enclosed GREEN Consent Revocation Card TODAY. If you receive a White Consent Card from Robert B. Barnhill, Jr., please disregard it.

If you have any questions or need assistance executing your revocation,

please contact TESSCO’s proxy solicitor,

These forward-looking statements may generally be identified by the use of the words “may,” “will,” “expects,” “anticipates,” “targets,” “goals,” “projects,” “intends,” “plans,” “seeks,” “believes,” “estimates,” and similar expressions, but the absence of these words or phrases does not necessarily mean that a statement is not forward-looking. These forward-looking statements are only predictions and involve a number of risks, uncertainties and assumptions, many of which are outside of our control. Without limiting the risks that we describe in our periodic reports and elsewhere, among the risks that could lead to a materially adverse impact on our business or operating results are the following: the impact and results of the consent solicitation and other activism activities by Robert B. The above list should not be construed as exhaustive and should be read in conjunction with our other disclosures, including but not limited to the risk factors described in our most recent Annual Report on Form 10-K and other periodic reports filed with the SEC, under the heading “Risk Factors” and otherwise. Other risks may be described from time to time in our filings made under the securities laws. New risks emerge from time to time. It is not possible for our management to predict all risks.

UroGen Pharma Announces Podium Presentation of Final Jelmyto® Data From Pivotal OLYMPUS Trial at the Annual Meeting of the Society of Urologic Oncology

UroGen Pharma Announces Podium Presentation of Final Jelmyto® Data From Pivotal OLYMPUS Trial at the Annual Meeting of the Society of Urologic Oncology

  • Clinically Meaningful Response Underscores Potential for Jelmyto to Become New Standard of Care for Patients with Low-Grade Upper Tract Urothelial Cancer
  • Of the 58% of Patients who Achieved a Complete Response, 12-Month Durability of Response Estimated at 81.8% by Kaplan-Meier Analysis
  • Median Time to Recurrence was Not Reached

PRINCETON, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
UroGen Pharma Ltd. (Nasdaq: URGN) a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to building and commercializing novel solutions that treat specialty cancers and urologic diseases, today announced the presentation of final data from the UGN-101 Jelmyto® (mitomycin) for pyelocalyceal solution Phase 3 OLYMPUS trial in patients with low-grade upper tract urothelial cancer (LG-UTUC). The results will be presented as a virtual podium presentation at the 21st Annual Meeting of the Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO):

  • Oral Session: Best of Bladder Cancer
  • Abstract #: 1003
  • Title: Durability of Response to Chemoablative Treatment of Low-Grade Upper Tract Urothelial Carcinoma with a Mitomycin-Containing Reverse Thermal Hydrogel: Final Results of the OLYMPUS Trial
  • Presenter: Surena F. Matin, M.D., Professor of Urology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX
  • Session Date & Time: Saturday, December 5, 2020; 2:00 pm Eastern Time

Final results from the Phase 3 OLYMPUS trial of Jelmyto, the first and only non-surgical kidney-sparing treatment approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for adults with LG-UTUC, show that Jelmyto demonstrated clinically meaningful response in adults with LG-UTUC. In both the OLYMPUS intent-to-treat population and in the sub-population of patients who were deemed to have unresectable disease at study entry, 58% of patients achieved a complete response (CR) with durability of response at 12-months estimated to be 81.8% by Kaplan-Meier analysis. Median time to recurrence was not reached.

“Current options for patients with low-grade upper tract urothelial carcinoma are not optimal. They include multiple endoscopic procedures or the removal of the kidney and ureter, both of which have consequences impacting patient health and quality of life,” said Surena F. Matin, M.D., Professor of Urology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX and Investigator of the OLYMPUS trial. “The results of the OLYMPUS study represent the first prospective trial in this space, supporting the use of Jelmyto as a less-invasive, kidney-preserving, durable treatment for low-grade upper tract urothelial carcinoma, which may reduce the need for multiple endoscopic procedures or loss of a kidney.”

The safety profile in the final OLYMPUS data was consistent with previously reported results. The most common adverse events (AE) were uretic stenosis, urinary tract infection, hematuria, flank pain, nausea, dysuria, renal dysfunction, abdominal pain and vomiting.

About the Phase 3 OLYMPUS Trial

OLYMPUS (Optimized DeLiverY of Mitomycin for Primary UTUC Study) is an open-label, single-arm Phase 3 clinical trial of UGN-101, Jelmyto (mitomycin) for pyelocalyceal solution, to evaluate the safety, tolerability and tumor ablative effect of Jelmyto in patients with low-grade UTUC. Seventy-one patients were treated at clinical sites across the United States and Israel. Study participants were treated with six weekly instillations of Jelmyto administered via a standard catheter. Four to six weeks following the last instillation, patients underwent a Primary Disease Evaluation (PDE) to determine Complete Response (CR), the primary endpoint of the study. PDE involved a ureteroscopy and wash cytology, a standard microscopic test of cells obtained from the urine to detect cancer and for cause biopsy. Patients who achieved a CR at the PDE timepoint were continued onto the maintenance phase of the trial, during which they were to receive monthly maintenance instillations for up to 12 months to determine the durability of response with Jelmyto.
