MGIC Investment Corporation Schedules 2nd Quarter 2021 Earnings Call and Releases Monthly Operating Statistics

PR Newswire

MILWAUKEE, July 9, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — MGIC Investment Corporation (NYSE: MTG) has announced plans to release its second quarter 2021 financial results after the market closes on Wednesday August 4, 2021.  A conference call/webcast has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Thursday August 5, 2021 to discuss the Company’s results for the quarter ended June 30, 2021.

Individuals interested in joining by telephone should dial 1-866-834-4126 ten minutes before the conference call begins. The call is also being webcast and can be accessed via the company’s investor website found at http://mtg.mgic.com under Newsroom. A replay of the webcast will be available on the company’s website through September 5, 2021.

The Company also today issued selected operating statistics of the primary mortgage insurance of its insurance subsidiaries for the month of June 2021. The summary is also available on the company’s investor website under Newsroom, Press Releases.

The information concerning new delinquency notices and cures is compiled from reports received from loan servicers. The level of new notice and cure activity reported in a particular month can be influenced by, among other things, the date on which a servicer generates its report, the accuracy of the data provided by servicers, the number of business days in a month, transfers of servicing between loan servicers, and whether all servicers have provided the reports in a given month.  Notices of delinquency are typically reported to us when loans are two payments past due (for example, for June we report as a new delinquency any delinquent loan that missed its May 1st (or earlier) payment that was not previously reported to us in May).  We expect the number of delinquencies will continue to be influenced by various factors related to the COVID-19 pandemic, including its length and severity, efforts to reduce its transmission, the resulting level of unemployment, and the impact of various government initiatives to mitigate the resulting economic harm.

The information concerning the percentage of loans in forbearance is based on the most recent information provided by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (the GSEs), as well as loan servicers, and we believe substantially all reported forbearances are related to COVID-19.  While the forbearance information provided by the GSEs refers to delinquent loans in forbearance as of the prior month-end, the information provided by loan servicers may be more current.

NGL Energy Partners LP Announces 2021 Open Season for Grand Mesa Pipeline Starting July 9, 2021

NGL Energy Partners LP Announces 2021 Open Season for Grand Mesa Pipeline Starting July 9, 2021

TULSA, Okla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–
NGL Energy Partners LP (NYSE: NGL) (“Partnership” or “NGL”) is pleased to announce that a binding open season will start today, July 9, 2021 at 8:00 am Central Daylight Time for its wholly owned affiliate Grand Mesa Pipeline, LLC’s (“Grand Mesa”) crude oil pipeline. This open season will close on August 9, 2021 at 5:00 pm Central Daylight Time.

Grand Mesa provides takeaway capacity for crude oil producers in the Denver-Julesburg Basin. It originates in Weld County, Colorado and extends approximately 550 miles southeast to NGL Crude Cushing, LLC’s storage terminal at Cushing, Oklahoma. The pipeline is capable of receiving and batch transporting up to 150,000 barrels per day for delivery into the Cushing hub, which affords its shippers access to both U.S. Midcontinent refining and trading markets as well as the Texas Gulf Coast refinery complex. The pipeline not only supports the continued growth and production in the area, but does so in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible way by reducing the current utilization of rail and truck transportation.

In 2016, NGL held an open season seeking commitments from shippers interested in shipping on Grand Mesa’s pipeline system. In response to the 2016 open season, Grand Mesa signed transportation service agreements with multiple shippers. Due to recent shipper bankruptcies and related contract terminations, committed capacity on Grand Mesa’s system has become available again. Accordingly, NGL is holding the current open season to re-contract available capacity on the Grand Mesa pipeline. The transportation services under this open season process are being offered pursuant to terms and conditions that are substantially similar to those applicable to the committed shippers that signed transportation service agreements in the 2016 open season, as specified in the open season documents.

Potential shippers will have access to the open season documents upon execution of a confidentiality agreement with Grand Mesa. The Confidentiality Agreement, and open season documents, can be obtained by contacting one of the contacts listed below.

Morphic Reports New Data from Positive Phase 1 Study of MORF-057, Oral Integrin Inhibitor Candidate for IBD

MORF-057 well tolerated across all phase 1 cohorts

Dose-dependent α4β7 receptor occupancy (RO) observed with receptor saturation at 100 mg dose

Biomarker changes including lymphocyte subset migration and CCR9 transcript levels provide early proof of biology

Conference call today at 8:00 AM ET

WALTHAM, Mass., July 09, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Morphic Therapeutic (Nasdaq: MORF), a biopharmaceutical company developing a new generation of oral integrin therapies for the treatment of serious chronic diseases, today announced positive results from its full phase 1 clinical trial for MORF-057, an oral small molecule inhibitor of the α4β7 integrin in development for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The data were shared today in an ePoster presentation at the Congress of European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO) 2021 Virtual Congress. The additional data shared today include detail regarding the safety, pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) performance of MORF-057 in healthy subjects.

“The complete phase 1 clinical data set including a favorable safety profile, predictable PK and excellent PD results, confirm MORF-057 as a very strong candidate for oral therapy in inflammatory bowel disease. Notably, MORF-057’s substantial effect on α4β7-expressing lymphocyte migration and CCR9 transcripts in a short two-week dosing period in healthy subjects provides evidence of the selective blockage of lymphocyte homing, a well-validated mechanism for combating the pathological inflammation in IBD,” said Peter Linde, M.D., chief medical officer at Morphic Therapeutic. “We have high confidence as we prepare for a MORF-057 phase 2 clinical program in patients with ulcerative colitis. Our increased conviction is based on the expanded safety profile and even stronger RO data reported today, in combination with biomarker data which we believe provide us with strong evidence of proof of biology.”

ECCO ePoster #306, titled MORF-057, an oral selective α4β7 integrin inhibitor for inflammatory bowel disease, leads to specific target engagement in a single and multiple ascending dose study in healthy subjects, was presented today by Adrian S. Ray, Ph.D., head of biology and translation at Morphic, is viewable on Morphic Therapeutic’s website here.

The MORF-057 phase 1 study included single ascending dose (SAD), multiple ascending dose (MAD), and food effect (FE) cohorts evaluating MORF-057 safety, PK, and PD. Healthy subjects were randomized 3:1 to receive a single dose of MORF-057 at 25, 50, 100, 150 and 400 mg or matching placebo in the SAD cohorts; or twice daily (BID) doses of 25, 50 and 100 mg MORF-057 or matching placebo for a total of 14 days in the MAD cohorts. A total of 67 eligible healthy subjects were enrolled into the studies, with 36 in the SAD, nine in the FE and 22 in the MAD cohorts. 66 subjects completed study treatment and one from the 50 mg BID MAD cohort withdrew consent for personal reasons.

MORF-057 was well tolerated in all cohorts and no safety signals were identified. MORF-057 demonstrated a favorable PK profile, where target engagement was confirmed, and a clear PK and PD relationship was established. MORF-057 was rapidly absorbed and systemic exposure was confirmed to increase approximately dose proportionally. A slight reduction in exposure without effect on trough concentrations was observed upon administration with a high fat meal in the food effect study. The results suggest food intake has no impact on trough MORF-057 levels and that MORF-057 can be administered without regard to food in planned studies in patients.

α4β7 receptor occupancy increased with dose and study day, achieving saturation (>99% RO) in individual patients from all cohorts above 25 mg by day 14. In the 100 mg BID cohort, MORF-057 saturated the α4β7 receptor (mean RO >99%). Dose-and time-dependent changes in biomarkers including specific α4β7 high expressing immune cell populations were observed, adding to evidence of proof of biology for MORF-057. These changes were consistent with those reported with other integrin inhibitors including the antibody drug vedolizumab which is approved for the treatment of IBD.

In addition to the phase 1 presentation, John P. Jones, Ph.D., director of clinical pharmacology at Morphic, presented MORF-057 non-clinical pharmacokinetic and metabolism data in poster P037: Nonclinical pharmacokinetics and absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion properties of MORF-057 support its clinical development as an oral selective α4β7 integrin inhibitor that is available here. These data provided the basis for phase 1 dose selection. The human PK from the phase 1 trial reported today (P306) surpassed the predictions from animal models reported in poster P037.

About MORF-057

Morphic is developing MORF-057 as a selective, oral small molecule inhibitor of the α4β7 integrin for patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). α4β7 has been clinically validated as a target for the treatment of IBD by the success of the approved injectable antibody therapeutic vedolizumab. MORF-057 is designed to block the interactions between α4β7 on the surface of lymphocytes and the mucosal endothelial cell ligand MAdCAM-1, substantially reducing lymphocyte migration from the bloodstream into intestinal mucosal tissues and causing inflammation that is associated with IBD.

Mirikizumab Up-Regulates Genes Associated with Mucosal Healing in Ulcerative Colitis for Up to One Year in Phase 2 Study

PR Newswire

INDIANAPOLIS, July 9, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE: LLY) announced new Phase 2 data showing that gene expression changes induced by mirikizumab in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) over a 12-week induction treatment were maintained for up to one year. These gene transcript changes, which were unique among those who responded to mirikizumab compared to placebo, were associated with mucosal healing, indicating that mirikizumab affects a distinct molecular healing pathway, compared to the spontaneous healing that occurred among those who responded to placebo.

Mirikizumab is being studied in Phase 3 trials for UC and Crohn’s disease (CD), two forms of inflammatory bowel disease that can cause serious and debilitating symptoms, and disruptions in daily life.

A separate analysis of patients with moderate to severe UC evaluated meaningful improvement of bowel urgency, a common symptom of UC that is associated with higher levels of disease activity, decreased work productivity and worse quality of life. These results are being presented virtually at the Congress of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO), July 8-10, 2021.

Mirikizumab Showed Early and Sustained Gene Expression Changes Associated with Mucosal Healing in UC for Up to One Year

In a previously-published Phase 2 study evaluating patients with UC, mirikizumab down-regulated several gene transcripts associated with inflamed mucosa and up-regulated gene transcripts correlated with healthy mucosa and markers of functional healing after 12 weeks, as defined by clinical disease indices of endoscopy and histology.

In this analysis, a set of differentially-expressed gene transcripts were identified in patients who responded to mirikizumab that were not found in those who responded to placebo at 12 weeks. Of the modulated genes, 71% (n=63) were present only in patients who responded to mirikizumab, 5.6% (n=5) were present only in those who responded to placebo, and 23.6% (n=21) were present in both groups. Effect size estimates were also examined to account for differences in sample size and associated power between treatment groups. The set of gene transcripts regulated by mirikizumab correlated with UC disease activity indices, demonstrating consistency of these molecular changes across symptomatic, clinical, endoscopic and histologic indices of UC disease activity.

The results observed at 12 weeks were maintained for up to one year in patients receiving mirikizumab. For methodology, see the “About the Studies” section below.

“In the first clinical study of an anti-IL-23p19 therapy in ulcerative colitis to evaluate gene expression on this large scale, mirikizumab demonstrated an ability to down-regulate the gene transcripts associated with inflammation and up-regulate transcripts associated with mucosal healing in ulcerative colitis, with changes maintained for up to one year,” said Walter Reinisch, Director of the Clinical IBD Study Group, Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Medical University of Vienna. “These results support the continued development of mirikizumab as a potential treatment option for ulcerative colitis, given the importance of mucosal healing and functional healing as key treatment goals for this difficult-to-treat disease.”

Patients with UC Reported on Definition of Meaningful Change in Bowel Urgency

Bowel urgency, the sudden or immediate need for a bowel movement, is one of the most distressing symptoms experienced by patients with UC. In this qualitative study of patients with moderate to severe UC, patients defined both bowel urgency severity and what would be a meaningful improvement in bowel urgency based on an 11-point numeric rating scale (NRS).

In this study, half of patients with UC (50%, n=10) reported that a 1-point change on the urgency NRS would be a meaningful change, indicating improved emotional well-being and greater confidence to leave the home or do their work.

A quarter of respondents (25%, n=5) indicated that a 2-point improvement in the urgency NRS was required to be considered meaningful, and another 25% of respondents (n=5) noted that a 3-point change or more was needed to achieve improvements in quality of life.

Importantly, among the 75% of patients who endorsed a 1 to 2-point change in urgency NRS, initial scores on the urgency NRS ranged from 2 to 9, indicating that this amount of change was meaningful regardless of the severity of an individual’s bowel urgency. For methodology, see the “About the Studies” section below.

“We are very excited to present these findings at ECCO, which provide one of the first analyses from the patient perspective on the impact of bowel urgency and what would constitute a meaningful change,” said Prentice Stovall, Jr., Global Development Leader, Immunology at Lilly. “Given the impact that bowel urgency has on an individual’s ability to work and overall quality of life, this analysis will help us further understand the experience of people with UC and the potential impact of our treatments on this burdensome and debilitating symptom.”

About The Studies

  • Mirikizumab-Induced Transcriptome Changes in Patient Biopsies at Week 12 Are Maintained Through Week 52 in Patients with Ulcerative Colitis
Patients who achieved clinical response at 12 weeks, as measured by a decrease in 9-point Mayo subscore (rectal bleeding, stool frequency, endoscopy) of ≥2 points and ≥35% from baseline, with either a decrease of rectal bleeding subscore of ≥1 or an RB subscore of 0 or 1) continued onto maintenance mirikizumab treatment. Patients given placebo in induction who achieved clinical response continued on placebo in the maintenance period. In this study, colonic biopsies from 52 patients were obtained at Weeks 0, 12 and 52 from the most affected area ≥30 cm from the anal verge (mirikizumab, n=31, placebo, n=7). Of those patients, 31 were 200 mg mirikizumab responders and seven responded to placebo. Transcript changes at Week 12 from baseline in the placebo and mirikizumab arms were clustered into differentially expressed genes using the Bayesian Limma R-package. Differentially expressed genes which maintained their Week 12 expression level through Week 52 in both the placebo and mirikizumab arms were identified and designated as similarly expressed genes. Overall, the safety profile at 52 weeks was consistent with that of mirikizumab in studies of UC and with the class.
  • A Qualitative Study Exploring Meaningful Improvement in Bowel Urgency among Adults with Moderate to Severe Ulcerative Colitis
In this qualitative study assessing meaningful improvement in bowel urgency based on a NRS, in-depth interviews were conducted in the United States with 20 adults with clinician-confirmed moderate to severe UC. Using an 11-point NRS developed specifically to assess bowel urgency severity, participants were asked to define levels of bowel urgency (where 0=no urgency and 10=worst possible urgency). Participants were also asked to describe what would be a meaningful improvement based on how this change would impact their daily life.

About Mirikizumab
Mirikizumab is a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody that binds to the p19 subunit of interleukin 23. Mirikizumab is being studied for the treatment of immune diseases, including ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.

About Ulcerative Colitis
Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that affects the colon. UC occurs when the immune system sends white blood cells into the lining of the intestines, where they produce chronic inflammation and ulcerations. There is an unmet need for additional treatment options for UC that provide meaningful symptom relief, including bowel urgency, and deliver sustained clinical remission.

“Our Metal Coatings segment delivered solid operating results with sales of $127.7 million, up 7.3%, and operating margin of 24.7%, up 360 basis points versus 21.1% in last year’s first quarter.  Segment level results were driven by improved market conditions, customer mix, price, and operational improvement initiatives.”

Mr. Ferguson continued, “During the first quarter, our Infrastructure Solutions segment had sales of $102.1 million, up 8.3% and operating margin of 9.4%, a tenfold improvement, compared to last year’s COVID impacted first quarter. Results were driven by solid operating improvement in our global welding solutions business, as refiners returned to performing turnarounds. We are gaining confidence for an improved second half of the year with increased domestic and international quoting activity for turnarounds, positioning AZZ for a potentially strong fiscal 2022. I want to thank all our employees for their hard work and dedication in delivering outstanding results, as well as continuing to provide exceptional service to our customers during the quarter.”

First Quarter Results

For the first quarter of fiscal year 2022, the Company reported sales of $229.8 million compared to $213.3 million for the comparable period last year, an increase of 7.8%.  Operating income increased to $30.7 million, or 114.5%, compared to $14.3 million in last year’s comparable three-month period. Net income for the current quarter increased $16.8 million to $22.3 million, or $0.88 per diluted share compared to $5.5 million, or $0.21 per diluted share for the same quarter in the prior fiscal year.  The provision for income taxes of $7.6 million reflects an effective tax rate of 25.5% for the three months ended May 31, 2021, as compared to $4.7 million, or 45.8%, for the prior year comparable period.  Bookings for the three-month period increased to $229.8 million, compared to $174.9 million for the same quarter last year.

Metal Coatings Segment

For the first quarter of fiscal year 2022, Metal Coatings segment sales increased 7.3% to $127.7 million and operating income increased 25.9% to $31.6 million compared to $119.0 million and $25.1 million respectively, for the same period in the prior fiscal year.  The higher sales for the quarter were primarily attributable to improved price realization and customer mix.  Operating margins for the quarter were 24.7%, an improvement of 360 basis points compared to 21.1% in the first quarter of fiscal year 2021.  Operating margin improvement was driven by both improved price realization in the current quarter, and a continued focus on operations excellence.

Infrastructure Solutions Segment

For the first quarter of fiscal year 2022, Infrastructure Solutions segment sales increased 8.3% to $102.1 million as compared to $94.3 million in the same quarter of the prior year.  Operating income for the first quarter of fiscal year 2022 totaled $9.6 million as compared to an operating loss of $(1.0) million in the prior year quarter.  The increase in net sales, operating income and margin for the three-month period was primarily attributable to improved market conditions within our Industrial platform, which saw an improvement in turnaround activity in both the U.S. and international markets.

Fiscal Year 2022 Guidance

Mr. Ferguson added, “Due to the improved market conditions for many of our end markets, we have revised our previously issued fiscal 2022 sales and earnings guidance. We now anticipate sales will be in the range of $855 million to $935 million and earnings per share to be in the range of $2.65 to $3.05 per diluted share for fiscal year 2022. This compares to the previous guidance of sales in the range $835 million to $935 million and earnings in the range of $2.45 to $2.95 per diluted share for fiscal year 2022.”

“As previously stated for fiscal 2022, we remain highly focused on growing our Metal Coatings segment and building our Infrastructure Solutions backlog in enclosures, switchgear and welding solutions.  The underlining fundamentals of our business remain strong providing us the foundation to aggressively pursue growth opportunities that fit our strategic plan. As part of our corporate commitment to Trust, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Teamwork and Safety (“TRAITS”), we continue to carefully manage our workforce to ensure a safe and healthy operating environment, while flexing our capacity to better match our customers improved demand for our products and services.”

“We continue to actively pursue initiatives to enhance shareholder value, drive growth, and accelerate our strategy to become predominately a metal coatings company.  The previously announced board-led strategic review of our portfolio and capital allocation is complete, and we are actively pursuing multiple recommendations that align with and support our strategy.  We are a much stronger company today and well-positioned to meet the growing demands for infrastructure improvements in the U.S and globally,” concluded Mr. Ferguson.

Largest U.S. Healthcare Claims and Utilization Analysis for BPH Procedures Reveals Lowest Overall Complication Rates and Consistent Durability after Treatment with Minimally Invasive UroLift System

Real-World Claims Data Presented at Annual European Association of Urology Congress Reveal Overall Complication Rates are Lowest after Treatment with the UroLift System

WAYNE, Pa., July 09, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE:TFX) today announced that the largest U.S. healthcare claims and utilization analysis for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) surgical and minimally invasive procedures reveals that overall complication rates are lowest after treatment with the UroLift® System. The research study titled “Analysis of Real-World Healthcare Data of Outcomes of Interventional Procedures in BPH”, which was sponsored by Teleflex, was presented by Dr. Steven Kaplan of Mount Sinai today at the 36th Annual European Association of Urology (EAU) Congress. Dr. Daniel Rukstalis+ of Prisma USC Division of Urology was a co-author of the study.

“Healthcare claims research takes a broad view of real-world treatment outcomes through the evaluation of measures that are typically outside the scope of clinical trial data, including financial and healthcare utilization data. Existing research in the area of surgical or minimally invasive procedures for BPH is sparse,” said Daniel Rukstalis, M.D. “We found the UroLift System had the lowest overall rate of complications at 300 days post-treatment.”

A retrospective observational analysis was performed on a representative sample of U.S. Medicare and commercial medical claims obtained from IBM Watson. The analysis included 18,794 transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) patients, 9,894 GreenLight patients, 4,639 UroLift System patients and 780 Rezūm patients in the database.

Key findings of the study include:

  • At 300 days post-treatment, the UroLift System demonstrated the lowest incidence of overall complications (defined as a post-operative procedure performed during a return visit to an outpatient setting): 16.3% for the UroLift System; 19.7% for TURP; 21.6% for GreenLight; and 23.0% for Rezūm.
  • Among the most commonly reported complications were those associated with catheterization, stone removal, and cystoscopy.
  • At 1,500 days post-treatment, the UroLift System demonstrated consistent durability, with a low surgical retreatment rate for return of symptoms of 6.8%, which was comparable to the more invasive surgical procedures TURP (6.3%) and GreenLight (7.0%). Rezūm patients had the highest rate of surgical retreatment at 9.5%.

Taken together, this large-scale analysis of U.S. real-world claims data reveals that overall rates of complications are lowest after treatment with the UroLift System and that surgical retreatment rates are similar among the UroLift System, TURP and GreenLight procedures. The surgical retreatment rate is highest for Rezūm.

“This pioneering research sets an even playing field when it comes to comparing minimally invasive procedures for BPH symptoms. The rigorous methodology that includes Medicare and commercial outpatient claims data sets a standard for the industry,” said Kevin Hardage, President of the Teleflex Interventional Urology business unit. “It’s vital for urologists and their BPH patients to have high-quality, high-integrity research to make important decisions about their treatment approach. This is the largest study of its kind within the field of BPH. It provides objective data that demonstrate the comparatively low overall rate of complications and the consistent durability for the UroLift System.”

About the UroLift
® System
The UroLift® System is a minimally invasive treatment for lower urinary tract symptoms due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of an enlarged prostate up to 100cc in men 45* years or older (*50 years outside U.S.). The UroLift permanent implants, delivered during an outpatient procedure, relieve prostate obstruction without heating, cutting, destruction or removing prostate tissue. The UroLift System is the only leading BPH procedure shown to not cause new onset, sustained erectile or ejaculatory dysfunction.*1-3 Most common adverse events are temporary and can include hematuria, dysuria, micturition urgency, pelvic pain, and urge incontinence.1 Rare side effects, including bleeding and infection, may lead to a serious outcome and may require intervention. Individual results may vary. The Prostatic Urethral Lift procedure (using the UroLift System) is recommended for the treatment of BPH in both the American Urological Association and European Association of Urology clinical guidelines. More than 250,000 men have been treated with the UroLift System in select markets worldwide.† Learn more at www.UroLift.com.
