LOUISVILLE, Ky.–(BUSINESS WIRE<\/a>)–
\nHumana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) today announced that James \u201cJ.P.\u201d Holland will join the company as senior vice president and President of Medicaid, effective August 17. In this role, Holland will lead the company\u2019s growing Medicaid business, which currently serves more than 1.6 million members in 11 states. Holland will report to Aaron Martin, President of Insurance.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cMedicaid is an important part of how we deliver on Humana\u2019s purpose, helping some of the most vulnerable populations access the care and support they need to achieve their best health,\u201d said Aaron Martin, President of Insurance at Humana. \u201cJ.P. brings deep expertise leading government-sponsored healthcare plans and maintaining strong relationships with state and provider partners. His experiences and insights will be invaluable as we continue to grow our Medicaid business and better serve our Medicaid members.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nHolland most recently served as President and CEO of Johns Hopkins Health Plans, where he led Medicaid, Medicare and other government-sponsored businesses. Prior to Johns Hopkins Health Plans, he was CEO of the Alliance Business at Elevance Health and also held leadership roles at Amerigroup and WellCare Health Plans. Earlier in his career, Holland served as a U.S. Navy pilot. He holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in economics from the U.S. Naval Academy and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
