To date, more than $675 million has been offered to community members through the program.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cSCE remains focused on helping Altadena community members recover by providing a path to fair and timely compensation,\u201d said Pedro J. Pizarro, president and CEO of Edison International, SCE\u2019s parent company. \u201cHearing directly from participants who have gone through the program is one of the most powerful ways to help others better understand the support available and how to access it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>New Survey Provides Early Insight into Participant Experience<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\nAs part of ongoing efforts to better understand claimant experiences and improvement opportunities, SCE launched a survey on June 1 for participants who have received payment. While results are preliminary, the initial feedback from nearly 100 respondents provides insight into how participants view the program, with 82% reporting a favorable opinion of the program.<\/p>\n<p>\n&#8220;Everyone we met was so nice and helpful. They conveyed a sense of genuine care for our situation,&#8221; said Vicki Ruiz, a homeowner who experienced a total loss. &#8220;We were very satisfied with the settlement we received.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cIt seemed daunting at first, but once I started, it was all pretty easy,\u201d said another respondent. \u201cI have encouraged everyone to apply.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cHow can anyone make a decision without knowing what the offer from SCE is?\u201d asked another participant, emphasizing that attorneys have a responsibility to provide their clients with a complete view of all available options so they can make informed decisions about their path forward.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program is designed to offer compensation in line with settlement values for similar claims in past wildfire lawsuits, with a more streamlined and faster approach than litigation. Filing a claim does not waive a claimant\u2019s rights. Receiving an offer does not waive rights either. The program is voluntary and available through Nov. 30, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\nAs of June 11:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bwlistdisc\">\n<li>\nNearly 3,600 claims submitted, consisting of about 10,900 individuals, trusts and legal entities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nMore than 1,950 offers extended to nearly 4,800 claimants, totaling more than $675 million.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nNearly 1,600 claimants paid, totaling almost $230 million, with many more in process.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nOn average, offers are being delivered within 35 days, well within the 90-day commitment following submission of a substantially complete claim. Over 72% of offers have been accepted, with more pending. Payments are made within 30 days after all conditions in the settlement agreement have been satisfied. Many payments are being processed in a fraction of that time.<\/p>\n<p><b>Register for the Community Meeting on June 30<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\nThe meeting will take place on Tues., June 30, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena.
