Nearly three-quarters of Canadians (74%) plan to eat outdoors at least once a month or more at a restaurant, cafe or pub during the warmer months this year.\u00b9<\/p>\n<p>To help diners discover the top places to soak up the sunshine, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opentable.ca\/c\/en\/top-restaurants\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><u>OpenTable<\/u><\/a> has released its annual list of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opentable.ca\/c\/en\/top-restaurants\/top-100-outdoor\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><u>Canada\u2019s Top 100 Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in 2026<\/u><\/a>. The list is compiled by analyzing more than 1 million diner reviews and metrics, including diner ratings, reservation demand and percentage of reviews tagged \u201coutdoor dining\u201d, among other factors.\u2074 The list also includes dog iconography to help diners easily identify dog-friendly spots.\u2075<\/p>\n<p>OpenTable is also highlighting key patio dining trends, offering a look at how Canadians are making the most of the summer season. It also includes top dog-friendly dining trends, because furry friends deserve a seat in the sun, too.<\/p>\n<p>\n        <strong>Sunshine served here:<\/strong> Outdoor dining has increased by 24 per cent in Canada, year-over-year, with July ranking as the most popular month to do so in the past 12 months.\u00b3 Consumer research of Canadians reveals for just over half (51%), warmer weather changes how often they eat out, with 43 per cent saying they dine at restaurants more frequently in the spring and summer.\u00b9 The desire to dine outdoors even holds up when the forecast doesn\u2019t, with a quarter (25%) saying they have stayed at their outdoor table during bad weather instead of moving indoors.\u00b9<\/p>\n<p>\n        <strong>Paw-tio perfection:<\/strong> For many Canadians, a great patio includes a spot for the dog too. New OpenTable dining data shows a 34 per cent year-over-year increase in dining at dog-friendly restaurants in the past 12 months, alongside a 39 per cent increase in dog-friendly restaurants, year-over-year.\u00b3 On this year\u2019s list, spots like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opentable.ca\/r\/pizza-culture-calgary\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><u>Pizza Culture<\/u><\/a> in Calgary, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opentable.ca\/r\/maxines-cafe-and-bar-vancouver\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><u>Maxine&#8217;s Cafe &amp; Bar<\/u><\/a> in Vancouver and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opentable.ca\/r\/simona-toronto\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><u>Simona<\/u><\/a> in Toronto all feature dog-friendly patios.<\/p>\n<p>And for many dog owners, the experience goes even further: over half (53%) of Canadian dog owners say having dog-friendly food or drink options on the menu matters when choosing a restaurant.\u00b9\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs patio season gets underway, Canadians are clearly eager to dine in the sunshine.
