CAMBRIDGE, Mass., May 07, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — \u00a0Akebia Therapeutics\u00ae, Inc.<\/a> (Nasdaq: AKBA), a biopharmaceutical company with the purpose to better the lives of people impacted by kidney disease, today reported financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2026 and shared recent business highlights related to the commercial launch of Vafseo\u00ae (vadadustat), now in its second year, as well as its advancing pipeline.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe number of patients on Vafseo increased through the start of the year, and we are further encouraged by trends suggesting continued growth as we leverage improved patient access and adherence as dialysis organizations implement observed dosing protocols,\u201d said John P.
