Mobility and transportation limitations, stigma and the inaccurate assumption that depression is a normal part of aging also contribute to older Floridians not receiving the mental health care and support they need.<\/p>\n<p><b>Call to Action<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\nThe report offers specific recommendations to improve support for Florida seniors\u2019 mental health. Strengthen access to age\u2011appropriate mental health care<\/b> by expanding the geriatric\u2011trained mental health workforce, adopting evidence\u2011based approaches for Florida\u2019s diverse older populations, and increasing services in rural and underserved communities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bwmarginl1\"><b>3. Invest in community supports that reduce stressors and strengthen stability<\/b> by prioritizing caregiver support, emergency financial assistance, and mobility solutions that help older adults manage daily challenges and remain independent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bwmarginl1\"><b>4.
