The ranking is based on an independent survey of employees.<\/p>\n

\n“American Water is honored to be recognized on the inaugural list of Forbes<\/i> America\u2019s Best Employers for Company Culture,” said Lori Sutton, EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer, American Water<\/b>. “We greatly appreciate our committed and skilled workforce, whose engagement and dedication foster an environment that supports the success and growth of our American Water team.”<\/p>\n

Forbes <\/i>partnered with market research firm Statista and surveyed more than 218,000 employees at companies with at least 1,000 employees located in the U.S. Survey respondents were asked if they would recommend their employer to others and to rate it based on a range of company culture-related topics involving fairness, inclusivity and opportunity.<\/p>\n

\nStatista analysts also did extensive research on each organization to assess company culture-related best practices, which was incorporated into each organization\u2019s final score. The 600 companies with the highest scores made the new ranking. American Water placed first among water and wastewater utilities and sixth among all utilities.<\/p>\n

\nIn addition, American Water was also named on Forbes <\/i>America’s Best Large Employers 2025 list<\/a>.<\/p>\n
