(NASDAQ: EYE), one of the largest optical retail companies in the United States, announced today that its annual scholarship program is open for entries, offering eligible optometry students the opportunity to win up to $7,500.<\/p>\n<p>\nThis year\u2019s scholarship program challenges students to explore the topic of <b>\u201cEmerging Technology in Optometry.\u201d<\/b> Third- and fourth-year optometry students are invited to submit written or video essays discussing how innovations such as portable diagnostic tools, vision-screening apps and next-generation eyewear can be leveraged to break down barriers in vision care. Entrants are also encouraged to consider how these technologies can be implemented in ways that ensure both accuracy and affordability\u2014particularly for underserved communities.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cTechnology is opening exciting new doors in the delivery of eye care, but it must be used thoughtfully to truly expand access,\u201d said Alexander Smith, O.D., Head of Doctor Network at National Vision. \u201cWe want to hear from the next generation of optometrists about how these innovations can be applied to improve eye health outcomes, especially for patients who too often face barriers to care. Their ideas will help shape a future where quality eye care is accessible for all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\nSubmissions for the 2025-2026 scholarship program are open via National Vision\u2019s scholarship program portal to students in good standing with an optometry school in the U.S., Puerto Rico or Canada. In addition to the first-place $7,500 scholarship, two runner-up scholarships of $2,500 each will be awarded. Students are encouraged to highlight any initiatives they have participated in during their education that focus on innovative technologies or efforts to increase access to care.<\/p>\n<p>\nEntries must be submitted by January 31, 2026 to be considered.
