The new process is currently available for United customers traveling on United&#8217;s daily service from <span class=\"xn-location\">Sydney, Australia<\/span> (SYD) to <span class=\"xn-location\">San Francisco, California<\/span> (SFO) with a connecting flight to a final destination.<\/p>\n<div class=\"PRN_ImbeddedAssetReference\" id=\"DivAssetPlaceHolder1\">\n<p>\n          <a href=\"https:\/\/mma.prnewswire.com\/media\/2783975\/United_777_200.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><br \/>\n            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mma.prnewswire.com\/media\/2783975\/United_777_200.jpg\" title=\"United Launches CBP\u2019s International Remote Baggage Screening on Select International Flights\" alt=\"United Launches CBP\u2019s International Remote Baggage Screening on Select International Flights\" \/><br \/>\n          <\/a>\n        <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Since launching the initiative, more than 160\u00a0passengers on each flight used the new process. These customers saved up to 45 minutes in their connection journey, relieving the stress of making their connecting flights to their final destinations.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how the process works for connecting passengers on the <span class=\"xn-location\">Sydney<\/span> to <span class=\"xn-location\">San Francisco<\/span> flights:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>\n          <b>Check bag at SYD<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 Travelers drop off checked bags as usual with an agent at the check-in counter in the lobby.<\/li>\n<li>\n          <b>Arrive at SFO<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 Passengers connecting on a flight to another destination go to CBP for customs, immigration and agriculture inspections and then head directly to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for security screening \u2013 removing the step for these travelers to pick-up checked bags at baggage claim and re-check them to their final destinations, unless specifically referred by CBP for further inspection.
