\n <\/span>, Sept. 15, 2025<\/span><\/span> \/PRNewswire\/ —\u00a0In October, millions of residential and eligible small business customers will see a California Climate Credit automatically applied to their Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) electric bill. No action is required to receive the credit.<\/p>\n

Residential households with an active electric account will receive an electric credit of $58.23<\/span>, the same amount they received in the spring.<\/p>\n

The twice-a-year electric credit was first delivered in April, in addition to an annual natural gas credit of $67.03<\/span> for residential customers with a natural gas account. Total bill credits for residential customers receiving both gas and electric service from PG&E in 2025 is $183.49<\/span>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n Eligible small business customers<\/a>\u00a0will also receive the electric credit in October, following an identical credit that was applied in April. In total, they will see $116.46<\/span> in annual bill credits.<\/p>\n

The California Climate Credit<\/a> reflects the public’s share of the state’s efforts to cut carbon emissions through the Cap-and-Trade Program<\/a>, overseen by the California Air Resources Board<\/a>. It is distributed by PG&E to customers as directed by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). <\/a><\/p>\n

“This credit helps ease energy costs for our customers and reinforces our commitment to a more sustainable and climate-resilient energy future,” said Vincent Davis<\/span>, Senior Vice President, Customer Experience.<\/p>\n

Since 2014, the CPUC calculates PG&E residential and small business customers have received an average of $1,000<\/span> in California Climate Credits on their utility bills, totaling more than $12.9 billion<\/span> in Cap-and-Trade Program benefits statewide.<\/p>\n

Customers are encouraged to sign up for\u00a0a free personal energy coach with the HomeIntel<\/a> program, enroll in the Budget Billing<\/a>\u00a0program, and\u00a0check that they are on the lowest-cost rate plan<\/a> for their home or business. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Customers can find their lowest rate simply by logging into their PG&E online account and using the Rate Comparison<\/a> tool. Ensuring customers are on the lowest-cost rate for their household or business can help them manage energy costs and potentially reduce their monthly bills.<\/p>\n
