\nAs part of its commitment to youth empowerment, The Allstate Foundation<\/a>, in partnership with the Center for Expanding Leadership & Opportunity<\/a>, has awarded 65 colleges and universities across the country $10,000 each through the College Service Grants program. These grants are designed to spark and expand service initiatives led by youth on campuses, empowering students to lead meaningful change in their communities. Now in its second year, the program has granted more than $1.5 million to more than 100 institutions to support and drive youth-led service and leadership.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe Allstate Foundation equips young changemakers by giving them the resources and tools to bring their ideas to life and make an impact in their schools, neighborhoods and beyond,\u201d said Alex Quian, head of youth empowerment, The Allstate Foundation. \u201cThese schools are a part of our national movement to empower youth to serve and improve communities. Together, we\u2019re putting funds directly into the hands of America\u2019s future and empowering them, while also inspiring other youth to be a positive influence where they live.\u201d<\/p>\n
How the College Service Grants are disbursed<\/b><\/p>\n
\nGrant recipients are selected based on an application process, which includes submitting a proposal for how the institution would utilize the funds to increase youth-led service on their campuses in alignment with one of the following strategies:<\/p>\n

- Microgrants:<\/b> Directly provided to students for new service programs.\n<\/li>\n
- Access support:<\/b> Increase student access to service experiences.\n<\/li>\n
- Increasing impact:<\/b> Enhance the impact of existing service activities.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
