Since then, the company has made investments in the things our nearly 680,000 retail electric customers expect from us: upgrades to strengthen the grid, improve reliability and storm resilience, and maintain and upgrade our generation fleet.<\/li>\n<li>Duke Energy Carolinas provides retail electric service to customers in the following counties in <span class=\"xn-location\">South Carolina<\/span>: <span class=\"xn-location\">Abbeville<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Anderson<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Cherokee<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Chester<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Fairfield<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Greenville<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Greenwood<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Kershaw<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Lancaster<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Laurens<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">McCormick<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Newberry<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Oconee<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Pickens<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Saluda<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Spartanburg<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Union<\/span> and <span class=\"xn-location\">York<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n        <b>By the numbers:<\/b> The company&#8217;s application in front of the Public Service Commission of <span class=\"xn-location\">South Carolina<\/span> (PSCSC) requests an overall annual revenue increase of <span class=\"xn-money\">$150.5 million<\/span>, which represents a 7.7% increase over current revenues.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>If approved, monthly electric bills for typical residential customers using 1,000 kilowatt-hours per month would increase <span class=\"xn-money\">$10.38<\/span> a month \u2013 from <span class=\"xn-money\">$136.82<\/span> per month to <span class=\"xn-money\">$147.19<\/span> \u2013 effective <span class=\"xn-chron\">March 1, 2026<\/span>. Commercial customers will see an average increase of 5.4% and industrial customers will see an average increase of around 5.2%.
