American Water Charitable Foundation provides a combined total $260,000 to support workforce development initiatives for the National Urban League and Affiliate Movement<\/i><\/p>\n

\nThe American Water Charitable Foundation<\/a>, a 501(c)(3) organization established by American Water<\/a> (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., and Pennsylvania American Water<\/a>, announced today that the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh<\/a> has received a $20,000 commitment as part of a larger Foundation Corporate Strategic grant. Funding will enhance workforce development initiatives that help close the equality gap for African Americans and other historically underserved groups throughout Western Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

\nThe Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh\u2019s workforce development programs include the Urban Seniors Jobs Program, the Urban Tech Jobs Program and TradesFuture. They have several Opportunity Broker Programs with partners such as the Trade Institute of Pittsburgh, New Century Careers, A Phillip Randolph \u2013 Breaking the Chains of Poverty, Garfield Jubilee Workforce Development Taskforce, Pittsburgh Technology Council \u2013 Apprenti program and Pittsburgh Gateways.<\/p>\n
