\nMorgan Stanley Investment Management today announced that, effective immediately, the Morgan Stanley Emerging Markets Debt Fund, Inc. (NYSE: MSD) (the \u201cFund\u201d) is no longer limited to investing up to 35% of its total assets in debt securities of corporate issuers located in or organized under the laws of emerging countries.<\/p>\n

\nThe Fund\u2019s primary investment objective is to produce high current income and as a secondary objective, to seek capital appreciation. The Fund seeks to achieve its investment objectives by investing in debt securities of government and government-related issuers located in emerging countries, of entities organized to restructure outstanding debt of such issuers and debt securities of corporate issuers located in or organized under the laws of emerging countries. Under normal circumstances, the Fund invests at least 80% of its assets in emerging markets debt.<\/p>\n

\nThe Fund is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fund\u2019s shares are listed on the NYSE under the symbol \u201cMSD.\u201d<\/p>\n
