This expansion means that the grant is now available in more than 14,000 communities nationwide. The Chase Homebuyer Grant can be applied toward two of the biggest barriers to homeownership\u2014the upfront cash needed for a down payment and closing costs.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cWe are proud to further expand the Chase Homebuyer Grant because it helps make the journey to homeownership a little bit easier,\u201d said Cerita Battles, head of Community and Affordable Lending at Chase. \u201cThis grant program also serves as a meaningful investment in places that have been historically disinvested\u2014helping to stabilize and revitalize Black, Hispanic, and Latino neighborhoods across the country.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\nThe $5,000 Homebuyer Grant:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bwlistdisc\">\n<li>\nIs available on DreaMaker, Standard Agency, FHA and VA mortgages<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nCan be used toward closing costs, down payment, and\/or for points that can reduce the interest rate<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nIs available on properties located in designated census tracts<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nIs eligible for purchase mortgages on a primary residence only<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nChase first rolled out the $5,000 Homebuyer Grant in 6,700 predominantly Black census tracts across the country in 2021. In 2022, Chase expanded the grant to over 5,000 Hispanic communities in 20 markets across the country. Chase has now expanded the grant for coverage of additional communities in the following markets:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"bwlistdecimal\">\n<li>\nAtlanta<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nAustin<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nBaltimore<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nCharlotte<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nDenver<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nFort Lauderdale<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nFort Worth<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nLas Vegas<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nMinneapolis<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nNew York<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nOrlando<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nRiverside (CA)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nSan Antonio<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nSan Diego<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nTampa<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nWashington, D.C.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\nBuyer accessibility and eligibility for the Chase Homebuyer Grant has increased significantly in key markets such as San Antonio, Riverside, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, San Diego and Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bwlistdisc\">\n<li><b>San Antonio<\/b> now has 65% coverage of its communities, up from 0%\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Riverside<\/b> sees an increase to 61% coverage of its communities, up from 0%\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Fort Lauderdale&#8217;s<\/b> coverage increases to 63% from 19%\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Las Vegas<\/b> sees an increase to 38% and <b>San Diego<\/b> to 30%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nTotal market coverage in <b>New York<\/b> has increased from 16% to 28%, and <b>Washington, D.C<\/b>. from 21% to 36% coverage<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nThis grant is part of a special purpose credit program (SPCP) that Chase developed in accordance with federal legal requirements.
