LONDON and RALEIGH, N.C., June 27, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Verona Pharma plc (Nasdaq: VRNA) (\u201cVerona Pharma\u201d or the \u201cCompany\u201d) announces the submission of a New Drug Application (\u201cNDA\u201d) to the US Food and Drug Administration (\u201cFDA\u201d) for approval of ensifentrine for the maintenance treatment of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (\u201cCOPD\u201d).<\/p>\n

Ensifentrine is a selective dual inhibitor of the enzymes phosphodiesterase 3 and 4 combining bronchodilator and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory activities in one molecule. If approved, it is expected to be the first novel mechanism available for the treatment of COPD in over 10 years.<\/p>\n
