This action comes after Governor Newsom and the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California lifted emergency water restrictions for the area recently; those restrictions had been in effect since June 1, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cCalifornia American Water joins the Governor, regional water suppliers and other local agencies in recognizing its Los Angeles Districts customers for their efforts during the recent drought and helping meet the Governor\u2019s emergency water restrictions goals,\u201d said Jessica Taylor, Southern California Director of Operations. \u201cAlthough conditions in the state have improved, it\u2019s essential all water users continue to be mindful of water usage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\nBeginning June 1, 2023, California American Water is encouraging all Los Angles District customers that include the Baldwin Hills, Duarte, and San Marino water systems to follow the below recommended watering schedule.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bwlistdisc\">\n<li>\nThree-Days-a-Week<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nOdd Address (Addresses ending in 1, 3, 5, 7, 9): Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nEven Address (Addresses ending in 2, 4, 6, 8, 0): Monday, Thursday, and Saturday<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nNo watering on Wednesday<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nTo avoid evaporation, we recommend customers water outdoors before 9:00 a.m. or after sunset.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nWatering should be limited to a total of 10-minutes per station per allowed days.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nHand watering with a garden hose\/nozzle and low-flow irrigation systems (Including drip irrigation and micro spray) that emit less than two gallons per hour are exempt from days of week and time limitations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nLos Angeles District customers are also reminded to be mindful of avoiding water waste by:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bwlistdisc\">\n<li>\nEliminating runoff from sprinklers<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nUse an automatic shut-off nozzle on hoses while washing cars<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nAll leaks must be fixed within 72-hours<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nDo not irrigate or water outdoors for 48-hours after rain<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nDo not use potable water for non-recirculating fountains, ponds, and water features<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nDo not use potable water to wash driveways and other hardscapes<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nCalifornia American Water will implement a district wide communications plan to educate all customers to take common-sense steps to continue to reduce water use in their homes and businesses.<\/p>\n<p>\nTo learn more about the emergency conservation measures, free conservation programs and services or customers can visit <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/cts.businesswire.com\/ct\/CT?id=smartlink&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.californiaamwater.com&amp;esheet=53418990&amp;newsitemid=20230612787765&amp;lan=en-US&amp;anchor=www.californiaamwater.com&amp;index=1&amp;md5=6888ba4967aa0b6a4c787b9a152dd3ef\">www.californiaamwater.com<\/a>.
