UNEF aims to support small, Black and brown-led nonprofits predominantly located on the city&#8217;s south and west sides and south suburban region, and connect them to new investment opportunities. Each of the 10 grantees will be awarded <span class=\"xn-money\">$50,000<\/span> of unrestricted funds over a two-year cycle to be used according to the needs of each nonprofit.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"PRN_ImbeddedAssetReference\" id=\"DivAssetPlaceHolder1\">\n<p>\n          <a href=\"https:\/\/mma.prnewswire.com\/media\/1589329\/United_Way_of_Metropolitan_Chicago.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><br \/>\n            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mma.prnewswire.com\/media\/1589329\/United_Way_of_Metropolitan_Chicago.jpg\" title=\"Austin Pop Courts.\" alt=\"Austin Pop Courts.\" \/><br \/>\n          <\/a>\n        <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Research by Echoing Green and The Bridgespan Group shows that leaders of color face challenges connecting to funders, building rapport, and securing and sustaining support for culturally relevant strategies. This has led to significant disparities in investment.
