{"id":514615,"date":"2021-07-19T15:51:39","date_gmt":"2021-07-19T19:51:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.marketnewsdesk.com\/index.php\/carnival-cruise-line-makes-plans-for-additional-ship-restarts-in-september-and-october\/"},"modified":"2021-07-19T15:51:39","modified_gmt":"2021-07-19T19:51:39","slug":"carnival-cruise-line-makes-plans-for-additional-ship-restarts-in-september-and-october","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marketnewsdesk.com\/index.php\/carnival-cruise-line-makes-plans-for-additional-ship-restarts-in-september-and-october\/","title":{"rendered":"Carnival Cruise Line Makes Plans For Additional Ship Restarts In September And October"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"xn-newslines\">\n<h2 class=\"xn-hedline\">More Than Half the Carnival Fleet to be Sailing by October With Carnival Planning to Continue to Operate Vaccinated Cruises<\/h2>\n<p class=\"xn-distributor\">PR Newswire<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"xn-content\">\n<p>\n        <span class=\"xn-location\">MIAMI<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-chron\">July 19, 2021<\/span> \/PRNewswire\/ &#8212;\u00a0Carnival Cruise Line announced today that three more ships will resume guest operations in September, and another four in October\u00a0\u2013\u00a0bringing the total number of ships to 15\u00a0\u2013\u00a0as the line&#8217;s successful restart of operations continues to ramp up.\u00a0Based on the success of\u00a0its initial\u00a0resumption\u00a0of service\u00a0and the\u00a0guest response to the onboard experience and\u00a0health and safety protocols that have been implemented,\u00a0Carnival will\u00a0continue to\u00a0operate all its\u00a0ships as vaccinated cruises\u00a0through at least October.<\/p>\n<p>The three ships for September are Carnival Glory from <span class=\"xn-location\">New Orleans<\/span>, starting <span class=\"xn-chron\">Sept. 5<\/span>, Carnival Pride from <span class=\"xn-location\">Baltimore<\/span>, starting <span class=\"xn-chron\">Sept. 12<\/span>, and Carnival Dream from Galveston, starting <span class=\"xn-chron\">Sept. 19<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Turning to October, the four additional ships to restart will be Carnival Conquest from <span class=\"xn-location\">Miami<\/span>, effective <span class=\"xn-chron\">Oct. 8<\/span>, Carnival Freedom from <span class=\"xn-location\">Miami<\/span>, effective <span class=\"xn-chron\">Oct. 9<\/span>, Carnival Elation from Port Canaveral, effective <span class=\"xn-chron\">Oct. 11<\/span>, and Carnival Sensation from Mobile, effective <span class=\"xn-chron\">Oct. 21<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Related to this announcement, Carnival is notifying guests and travel agents of an extension in its pause of operations through <span class=\"xn-chron\">Sept. 5<\/span> for Carnival Pride from <span class=\"xn-location\">Baltimore<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-chron\">Sept. 11<\/span> for Carnival Dream from Galveston, <span class=\"xn-chron\">Oct. 4<\/span> for Carnival Conquest from <span class=\"xn-location\">Miami<\/span> and <span class=\"xn-chron\">Oct. 16<\/span> for Carnival Sensation from Mobile.\u00a0 Cruises on Carnival Sunshine from Charleston, Carnival Ecstasy from <span class=\"xn-location\">Jacksonville<\/span> and Carnival Liberty from Port Canaveral will be cancelled through <span class=\"xn-chron\">Oct. 31<\/span>. In addition, a three-day cruise on Carnival Miracle from <span class=\"xn-location\">Long Beach<\/span> on <span class=\"xn-chron\">Sept. 24<\/span> is being cancelled, and then Carnival Miracle will begin sailing from <span class=\"xn-location\">Long Beach<\/span> on <span class=\"xn-chron\">Sept. 27<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We\u00a0are\u00a0very excited about our restart and\u00a0greatly appreciate the support of our guests,\u00a0travel agents and port and destination partners,&#8221; said <span class=\"xn-person\">Christine Duffy<\/span>, president of Carnival Cruise Line. \u00a0&#8220;By the end of\u00a0July,\u00a0we will have five ships\u00a0in our restart plan,\u00a0including the introduction of service on <i><span class=\"xn-person\">Mardi Gras<\/span><\/i>, and\u00a0we are seeing a\u00a0great combination of strong demand and strong guest satisfaction scores\u00a0tied to the positive guest experience on board.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Carnival will continue to welcome unvaccinated guests on board,\u00a0but all unvaccinated guests including children under the age of 12,\u00a0will be subject to pre-cruise\u00a0and\u00a0pre-embarkation\u00a0testing\u00a0and testing again prior to debarkation\u00a0(on cruises\u00a0longer than\u00a0four days) along with a <span class=\"xn-money\">$150<\/span> per person charge to cover\u00a0the costs of\u00a0testing, reporting\u00a0and\u00a0health\u00a0and safety screenings.\u00a0At this time,\u00a0Carnival is limiting operation of\u00a0its\u00a0supervised youth programs to vaccinated children\u00a0and youth\u00a012 years and older. Unvaccinated guests departing from Florida\u00a0(effective <span class=\"xn-chron\">July 31<\/span>) and <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> (effective <span class=\"xn-chron\">Aug. 2<\/span>) will also need to show proof of travel insurance coverage, based on the itineraries being sailed and the requirements of ports and destinations visited. These additional measures will be in place through at least October but may be extended based on guidance from public health and medical advisors\u00a0and the requirements of destination partners.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The decision to sail with vaccinated voyages was a difficult one to make, and we recognize this is disappointing to some of our guests especially the many families with children under the age of 12 who we love to sail, and who love to sail with us,&#8221; said Duffy.\u00a0&#8220;It&#8217;s important to remember that this is a temporary measure given the current circumstances. \u00a0In consultation with our medical experts and advisors, we&#8217;ve determined this plan is in the best interests of the health and safety of our guests, crew and the destinations that we bring our ships to.
