Due to Overwhelming Response to Program, Kingsford Also Awards Grants to 10 Additional Deserving Applicants<\/h2>\n

\n OAKLAND, Calif.<\/span>, April 26, 2021<\/span> \/PRNewswire\/ — Today, Kingsford\u00ae announced the selection of its inaugural class of the Preserve the Pit<\/a>\u2122 Fellowship. This group of barbecue professionals will receive a grant along with immersive training and one-on-one mentorship with industry leaders throughout 2021 to turn their business aspirations into a reality.<\/p>\n

\n Kingsford<\/span> launched Preserve the Pit on January 25, 2021<\/span> and received nearly 1,000 applications during the application period.\u00a0Kingsford and its Mentor Network \u2013 made up of industry leaders Kevin Bludso, Dr. Howard Conyers<\/span>, Devita Davison<\/span>, Bryan Furman<\/span>, Rashad Jones<\/span> and Amy Mills<\/span> \u2013\u00a0selected the 2021 class of fellows based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, their connection to barbecue, contributions to the legacy of the Black barbecue community and commitments to fueling its future. \u00a0<\/p>\n
