LONDON, April 08, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Global Ship Lease, Inc.\u00a0(NYSE:GSL) (the \u201cCompany\u201d) announced today that KEP VI (Newco Marine), Ltd. and KIA VIII (Newco Marine), Ltd., both affiliates of Kelso\u00a0& Company, a U.S. private equity firm (together, the \u201cSelling Shareholders\u201d), intend to offer for sale in an underwritten public offering (the \u201cOffering\u201d) Class A common shares, par value $0.01 per share, of the Company (the \u201cCommon Shares\u201d). The Selling Shareholders expect to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 15% of the Common Shares offered in the Offering.\u00a0The Company will not receive any proceeds from the sale of Common Shares by the Selling Shareholders.<\/p>\n

The Company\u2019s Common Shares are listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol \u201cGSL.\u201d<\/p>\n

Global Ship Lease\u00a0is a leading independent owner of containerships with a diversified fleet of mid-sized and smaller containerships. Incorporated in the\u00a0Marshall Islands,\u00a0Global Ship Lease\u00a0commenced operations in\u00a0December 2007\u00a0with a business of owning and chartering out containerships under fixed-rate charters to top tier container liner companies.
