The decrease was primarily due to adjustments in the LG Chem, Ltd. and Merck collaboration budgets and full-time employee allocations.<\/p>\n<p>Research and development expenses were\u00a0$8.0 million\u00a0and\u00a0$7.0 million\u00a0for the three months ended\u00a0December 31, 2020\u00a0and 2019, respectively.
