And let\u2019s face it, some of the terms used in procurement and tech have their origins in systematic oppression and servitude. That is wrong and needs to change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Within the context of a broader Human Equity Project, JAGGAER\u2019s leadership has mandated its development, marketing, communications and support teams to go through all of its code, documentation and collateral to identify and eliminate offensive terms, replacing them with neutral and objective alternatives. For example, the terms \u201cblacklist\u201d and \u201cwhitelist\u201d have been replaced with \u201cblocked list\u201d and \u201csafe list.\u201d The term \u201cmaster-slave system\u201d has been replaced with alternatives such as \u201ccontroller-agent\u201d system. JAGGAER is also addressing language that is insensitive based on gender, sexual orientation, and other prejudices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t claim to be perfect in this respect and recognize that we\u2019re embarking on a journey,\u201d Bureau emphasized. \u201cWe challenge our peers around the world, especially those in the procurement tech space, to join us and apply the same thinking.
