Washington, DC, Jan. 11, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — URAC,\u00a0one of the country\u2019s oldest and\u00a0most\u00a0prestigious accrediting\u00a0organizations\u00a0announced today that\u00a0they have expanded their offerings\u00a0for small\u00a0mail service pharmacies,\u00a0thereby opening the possibility for those\u00a0organizations to\u00a0earn\u00a0accreditation to\u00a0demonstrate\u00a0their quality and\u00a0commitment to outstanding patient\u00a0outcomes. Many Americans are served by these smaller organizations and URAC strongly believes that price should\u00a0never be a factor in whether an organization\u00a0aims to\u00a0improve quality through pursuing\u00a0accreditation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

URAC accreditation helps to improve the quality of health care and management delivered by\u00a0pharmacies\u00a0of all sizes and acts as a key differentiator and independent validation of quality.\u00a0<\/p>\n

URAC has established a\u00a0new offering for small mail service pharmacies that are seeking accreditation\u00a0in recognition\u00a0that health care organizations of\u00a0all sizes benefit from a URAC\u00a0accreditation.\u00a0The new\u00a0offering\u00a0joins\u00a0the already-existing Small Specialty Pharmacy\u00a0Offering, which URAC successfully launched in 2019.\u00a0URAC aims to reduce the financial barrier to entry so that smaller\u00a0mail service pharmacies\u00a0can earn recognition for their quality activities, demonstrate their value in caring for their members and\u00a0patients and\u00a0deliver the best outcomes.\u00a0As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, mail service pharmacies play an increasingly\u00a0vital and\u00a0growing role in health care\u00a0as more Americans\u00a0are having\u00a0their\u00a0medication shipped to them.\u00a0<\/p>\n
