(Graphic: Business Wire)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\nAccording to a recent survey conducted for <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/cts.businesswire.com\/ct\/CT?id=smartlink&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.regions.com%2Fnext-step&amp;esheet=52353346&amp;newsitemid=20210104005015&amp;lan=en-US&amp;anchor=Regions+Next+Step&amp;index=1&amp;md5=0c4858be096f7b572d8fb7c93767773b\">Regions Next Step<\/a>, Regions Bank\u2019s financial education program, saving more and spending less are the most important financial resolutions for 2021. When asked to select all descriptions that apply to what they plan to do financially in the new year, almost one in three (30%) respondents said they would focus on \u2018More Self Care\u2019 or saving more than usual, and 28% plan to focus on \u2018No More FOMO,\u2019 or no more \u2018fear of missing out,\u2019 meaning these respondents plan to avoid unnecessary spending sparked by trends that may be popular \u2013 but cost a lot. These results were consistent across all age groups.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nOther key findings from the survey include:\n<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bwlistdisc\">\n<li>\nApproximately one-quarter of Americans (26%) plan to \u2018Shape Up\u2019 by paying down debt.\n<\/li>\n<li>\nRoughly one-quarter (26%) said they plan to \u2018Declutter\u2019 by setting or reassessing their financial goals.\n<\/li>\n<li>\nAbout one in five (21%) plan to \u2018Stay Organized\u2019 by setting a formal financial budget.\n<\/li>\n<li>\nYounger Americans (ages 18-34) are least likely to pay down debt but most likely to set or reassess financial goals and set a formal budget.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\u201cFor many of us, the financial uncertainties prompted by COVID-19 put a spotlight on the importance of financial wellness.
