Williams, President and CEO of TMCF.\u00a0 \u201cThe allocation of $1.7 billion in direct aid to HBCUs, PBIs and other MSIs, discharging of over $1 billion in HBCU Capital Finance Program debt, increase in Title III aid and Pell is Congress demonstrating once again its bipartisan support for our institutions and their students.\u00a0 After this challenging year on so many fronts, this infusion of resources and relief sends a clear signal that the future is bright for HBCUs and PBIs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis bipartisan agreement is a significant step toward making higher education more affordable for millions of Americans. While this is not the comprehensive overhaul of the Higher Education Act and there is still work to be done, this proposal will help millions of students.
