Highlights from the report include:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>With help from ETFs, U.S. equity funds had only their second month of inflows in 2020. Nearly <span class=\"xn-money\">$36 billion<\/span> of these inflows went to broad-market funds, such as the Vanguard Total Stock Market Index, which holds a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/c212.net\/c\/link\/?t=0&amp;l=en&amp;o=3015725-1&amp;h=2577737284&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww-prd.morningstar.com%2Fcontent%2Fdam%2Fmarketing%2Fshared%2Fpdfs%2FResearch%2FMorningstar_Analyst_Rating_Methodology_111919.pdf%3Fcid%3DRED_RES0002&amp;a=Morningstar+Analyst+Rating%E2%84%A2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Morningstar Analyst Rating<span>\u2122<\/span><\/a> of Gold and became the first U.S. fund to end a month with more than <span class=\"xn-money\">$1 trillion<\/span> in total assets. <\/li>\n<li>Taxable-bond funds garnered <span class=\"xn-money\">$52 billion<\/span> in November, bringing the group&#8217;s total inflows to <span class=\"xn-money\">$368 billion<\/span> for the year-to-date period. Intermediate core bond funds led inflows for the group with <span class=\"xn-money\">$15 billion<\/span>. Investors added <span class=\"xn-money\">$6.5 billion<\/span> to high-yield bond funds in addition to investing <span class=\"xn-money\">$6 billion<\/span> in short-term bond and intermediate government funds. On the other hand, investors pulled <span class=\"xn-money\">$5.7 billion<\/span> from long government funds amid historically low interest rates. <\/li>\n<li>Commodities funds, which have had strong inflows as a group for much of 2020, saw <span class=\"xn-money\">$5 billion<\/span> of outflows in November, their second consecutive month of outflows. <span class=\"xn-money\">$3.8 billion<\/span> of these outflows came from SPDR Gold Shares as the price of gold continued its gradual pullback from its all-time high of more than <span class=\"xn-money\">$2,000<\/span> per ounce set in early <span class=\"xn-chron\">August 2020<\/span>. <\/li>\n<li>Among fund families, iShares topped the list in November with nearly <span class=\"xn-money\">$31 billion<\/span> of inflows, with the firm collecting <span class=\"xn-money\">$26 billion<\/span> across its U.S.-, international-, and sector equity funds. Fidelity had a strong month with nearly <span class=\"xn-money\">$12.4 billion<\/span> of inflows, owing much of its recent growth to its passively managed offerings, which pulled in <span class=\"xn-money\">$11 billion<\/span> during the month. Meanwhile, Dimensional Fund Advisors had the most outflows of all fund families in November at nearly <span class=\"xn-money\">$1.9 billion<\/span>.
