Houston, TX, Dec. 15, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Delwinds Insurance Acquisition Corp. (the \u201cCompany\u201d) announced today that it closed its initial public offering of 20,125,000 units (including 2,625,000 units sold upon exercise of the underwriters\u2019 over-allotment option in full) at $10.00 per unit. The units are listed on the New York Stock Exchange (\u201cthe NYSE\u201d) and trade under the ticker symbol \u201cDWIN.U.\u201d Each unit consists of one share of the Company\u2019s Class A common stock and one-half of one redeemable warrant. Each whole warrant entitles the holder thereof to purchase one share of Class A common stock at a price of $11.50 per share. Once the securities comprising the units begin separate trading, the Company expects that its Class A common stock and warrants will be listed on the NYSE and trade under the symbols \u201cDWIN\u201d and \u201cDWIN.WS,\u201d respectively.<\/p>\n

The Company is a newly organized blank check company formed for the purpose of effecting a merger, capital stock exchange, asset acquisition, stock purchase, reorganization or similar business combination with one or more businesses, which we refer to as our initial business combination. While the Company may pursue an initial business combination target in any industry, it intends to focus its search on businesses in the insurtech, traditional insurance and insurance-related products and services industries.
