The national average of paid time off for U.S. workers after a year of service is <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/c212.net\/c\/link\/?t=0&amp;l=en&amp;o=3010060-1&amp;h=1650992232&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bls.gov%2Fopub%2Fted%2F2018%2Fprivate-industry-workers-received-average-of-15-paid-vacation-days-after-5-years-of-service-in-2017.htm&amp;a=10+days+per+year\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">10 days per year<\/a>, compared to 20 days in most European countries. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Paid time off is so important for employees&#8217; mental health,&#8221; said <span class=\"xn-person\">Rob Hecker<\/span>, vice president of Global Total Rewards at Unum. &#8220;It allows them to rest, recharge and return to work more productive.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\n        <b>Paid family leave more important to women<br \/><\/b>Although both men and women rank paid family leave as the No. 3 most-wanted benefit, it&#8217;s more important to women (27%) than men (21%).
