Blue Shield of California has approximately 3.7 million covered lives in California through its Commercial PPO\/EPO, Medicare Advantage PPO, Commercial HMO and Medicare Advantage HMO programs.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nDermTech\u2019s Pigmented Lesion Assay (\u201cPLA\u201d) is the first non-invasive gene expression test for the early detection of melanoma. The PLA has a 99% negative predictive value (NPV), meaning there is a less than 1% probability of the PLA missing a melanoma when administered properly.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cThis is the second large Blues plan we have contracted with in recent months.
