Multi-year Program Opens Eligibility to Small Businesses Owned by Black, Indigenous and People of Color<\/i><\/p>\n

SEATTLE–(BUSINESS WIRE<\/a>)–
\nComcast Business today announced that five small businesses in Western Washington received Comcast RISE<\/a> program awards. The awards will allow these businesses to receive consulting, media and creative production services from Effectv, the advertising sales division of Comcast Cable, or technology upgrades from Comcast Business, based on their specific needs. The news is part of Comcast\u2019s broader announcement of more than 700 businesses that were selected as winners in the first round of Comcast RISE. Recipients in 285 cities in 29 states include a diverse roster of small business from restaurants and salons, to professional services and retail shops.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe local Western Washington businesses receiving awards from the first phase of the Comcast Rise program include F-Rock Printing<\/b> (Seattle), Idman Childcare<\/b> (Tukwila), Sphere Solar Energy<\/b> (Seattle), TaxBunny<\/b> (Burien), ValMed LLC<\/b> (Tacoma) and Your Money Matters<\/b> (Auburn).\n<\/p>\n

\nThe first phase of Comcast RISE, which stands for \u201cRepresentation, Investment, Strength and Empowerment,\u201d focused on U.S. Black-owned, small businesses, which were hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a recent study<\/a> from the National Bureau of Economic Research. Comcast RISE brings together two of the company\u2019s brands \u2014 Comcast Business and Effectv, both with expertise in the small business space \u2014 to empower business owners with the expertise and resources needed to navigate the economic effects of the pandemic.\n<\/p>\n

\nThis week, the next phase of Comcast RISE opens eligibility to include Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)-owned, small businesses. They can apply at www.ComcastRISE.com<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n
