Lapo Pistelli\u2019s Biography<\/b><\/p>\n
\nBorn in Florence in 1964, Lapo Pistelli was appointed Director Energy Transition Minerals Solutions at Eni on October 12, 2026.<\/p>\n
\nGraduating with honours in International Law from the “Cesare Alfieri” Faculty of Political Science at the University of Florence in 1988, he started working at a research centre, while serving two mandates in the local administration of Florence.<\/p>\n
\nMr. Pistelli was a member of the Italian Parliament from 1996 to 2015 (1996-2004 and 2008-2015), and a member of the European Parliament from 2004 to 2008. In addition, he served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy from 2013 to 2015. He resigned from all his institutional and political roles in July 2015, when he joined Eni. From July 2020 and October 2026, Mr. Pistelli held the position of Director of Public Affairs at Eni.<\/p>\n
\nIn addition, he has taught and lectured at the University of Florence, the Overseas Studies Program at Stanford University and many other international academic institutions. He regularly contributed to many European and American think tanks and research centres specialized in international relations. Mr. Pistelli is a member of the Board of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) and of the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI), and member of the WE \u2013 World of Energy editorial committee. He also collaborates with Limes and Aspenia magazines and is Chairman of OMEC (Observatoire M\u00e9diterran\u00e9en de l\u2019\u00c9nergie et du Climat).<\/p>\n
