Developers can use any YouCam API to build a working web or mobile app with clear value for shoppers or retailers. Each team submits a code repository, a project description, and a 1 to 3 minute demo video, and judges score projects on technological implementation, design, potential impact, and quality of the idea.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe top three teams win $2,500, $1,000, and $500. Two new $1,000 awards recognize the best project from a team with at least one self-identified woman member (Women in Tech Award) and the best project from a team with at least one enrolled student (Rising Star Award). Each winning team picked a problem that shoppers or brands face every day and solved it with YouCam AI.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bwlistdisc\">\n<li><b>Beauty shopping that works without a screen. <\/b>Aloud, the first-place project, lets blind and low-vision shoppers choose skincare and check their makeup by voice, on their own. The app runs the YouCam AI Skin Analysis API and AI Skin Tone Analysis on a selfie, turns the scores into spoken guidance, and checks lighting before it gives an answer. In testing on iPhone, all 10 scans returned a result in under 30 seconds. The team built Aloud for the estimated 8.5 million Americans who are blind or have serious vision loss.\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Catalogs that show every customer. <\/b>ShadeSpan, the second-place project, uses AI Clothes Virtual Try-On and AI Skin Analysis to show each garment in a collection on six skin tones and score how well the color holds up on each one. In its demo catalog, only 14.3% of garments passed on all six tones. Checking a 14-piece collection this way with photo shoots would take 84 separate shoots. CASTING takes the same idea further for merchandisers: it places one product photo on eight people with measured skin tones in about 28 seconds, using four YouCam APIs for try-on, skin analysis, skin type, and facial color tones.\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Virtual try-on that shoppers can trust. <\/b>KeepMe lets shoppers decide which parts of their appearance AI try-on is allowed to change, such as their face, hair, or glasses, and flags and repairs any change they did not approve.
