\n Jupiter, FL, Oct. 06, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — <\/b>Jupiter Neurosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: JUNS), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing investigational therapies for neurodegenerative diseases, today announced that the first patient has been dosed in the company\u2019s Phase 2a RESET clinical trial evaluating JOTROL\u2122<\/sup> in patients with Parkinson\u2019s disease (PD).<\/p>\n

The dosing of the first patient represents an important clinical milestone for Jupiter and marks the transition of JOTROL\u2122<\/sup> into Phase 2a clinical evaluation in patients with Parkinson\u2019s disease. The RESET study (NCT07592767<\/u><\/a>) is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 2a clinical trial designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and biomarker effects of JOTROL\u2122<\/sup>, Jupiter\u2019s investigational, proprietary micellar formulation of trans-resveratrol.<\/p>\n

RESET is expected to enroll approximately 30 patients with Parkinson\u2019s disease who will be randomized 1:1:1 to receive one of two dose levels of JOTROL\u2122<\/sup> or placebo. Study treatment will be administered orally for 12 weeks. The trial\u2019s primary objectives include assessment of safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics, including evaluation of JOTROL\u2122<\/sup> exposure in plasma and cerebrospinal fluid. Secondary and exploratory assessments include biomarkers associated with energy metabolism, inflammation and Parkinson\u2019s disease, as well as clinical outcome measures.<\/p>\n

Pagan, MD, professor of neurology at Georgetown University School of Medicine and Vice Chairman of the Department of Neurology. Georgetown University is the study sponsor. \u201cThis study is designed to provide important information regarding JOTROL\u2019s safety, pharmacokinetics and biological activity in Parkinson\u2019s disease and to help inform the future clinical development of the program.\u201d<\/p>\n

JOTROL\u2122<\/sup> is designed to overcome limitations associated with the bioavailability of conventional resveratrol. In a completed Phase 1 study in healthy volunteers, JOTROL\u2122<\/sup> demonstrated increased systemic exposure to resveratrol and measurable cerebrospinal fluid concentrations. The Phase 1 study reported no serious adverse events. Preclinical studies in a model of Parkinson\u2019s disease also demonstrated neuroprotective effects, including improvements in measures of motor function. These findings supported advancement of JOTROL\u2122<\/sup> into the RESET Phase 2a study.<\/p>\n

As the company continues to enroll patients in the RESET trial, it has also initiated a formal process to explore and evaluate strategic options to maximize shareholder value.
