FuelCell operated at an annualized production rate of approximately 37.1 MW during fiscal third quarter 2026 and recorded $17.0 million in charges tied to inventory and firm purchase commitments under Phase 0 of the Fit Energy capital equipment purchase agreement. Gross loss reached $(24.5) million on revenue of $33.0 million, and FCEL shares fell $2.68, or 15.69%, to close at $14.40 on September 2, 2026. FuelCell reported that its per-unit product costs and absorbed fixed manufacturing overhead “reflect the annualized production rate of approximately 37.1 MW at which we operated during the quarter, which remains below the production volume at which we expect our cost structure to align with market-based pricing for orders of this scale.”<\/p>\n

The June 24, 2026 announcement described up to 380 MW of fuel cell power, with an immediate deposit for a committed 30 MW Phase 0 scheduled to begin delivery later that year. As set forth in the complaint, the slower-than-required production rate meant product costs and manufacturing overhead were running above the contractual pricing established under the agreement, a trend plaintiffs allege was affecting profitability and was reasonably likely to produce charges before shareholders were told.<\/p>\n
