NEWPORT NEWS, Va., Sept. 11, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — HII (NYSE: HII) announced today that it has been\u00a0awarded a contract from the U.S. Navy<\/a> to start procurement of long-lead time materials (LLTM) for the construction of planned aircraft carrier CVN 82 at its Newport News Shipbuilding division.<\/p>\n

The $336 million undefinitized contract award will initiate advanced procurement of propulsion plant materials critical to the future construction of CVN 82.<\/p>\n
